Epping, Essex, UK - Tensions flared as three individuals were arrested during heated protests over asylum seekers residing at The Bell Hotel. A rally was organised, with attendees objecting to the presence of about 140 migrants at the hotel. Essex Police enforced a dispersal order and imposed protest restrictions, demanding the event end by 20:00 and banning offensive or inflammatory signage.

One man faced allegations of inciting racial hatred, while another man and a woman were detained for defying protest limitations. Around 200 demonstrators gathered outside Epping Forest District Council, where a woman was apprehended after refusing to vacate the Civic Centre steps, having unfurled a Union flag.

The police clarified that her arrest was unrelated to the flag display but was due to illegal protests on restricted premises. Another individual was detained for remaining at the location after the protest, which violated a section 14 order. Meanwhile, the participant accused of racial hatred allegedly set an emblem alight during earlier protests.

Earlier, demonstrators positioned themselves behind barriers opposite The Bell Hotel, greeting honking vehicles in support. The hotel has become a contentious site following the recent charge of a housed asylum seeker with sexual assault, an allegation he denies.

The court is currently processing the case. Recently, a Court of Appeal verdict overturned a temporary injunction that would have halted the housing of asylum seekers at The Bell Hotel, reported the BBC.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper reiterated, "We support lawful protest but will act firmly against criminal behaviour. The public sentiment in Epping is recognised, and we urge peaceful and lawful demonstrations.”

The unrest reflects broader nationwide anti-asylum protests occurring in cities like London, Gloucester, and Norwich on the same day.

A police officer was punched in the face, though it seems the violence came from a small group of masked agitators.

The Metropolitan police said they had been facilitating a peaceful demonstration along Manchester Road and Westferry Road on the Isle of Dogs before “a small number of masked protesters then became aggressive towards members of the public and police”.

….
The Met said: “Arrests were made for common assault by a protester on a member of the public, possession of class A and B drugs, assault on police/public order offences and failure to disperse.

Seems there are always violent agitators, irrespective of whether it's a demo on the right or left.  You have to feel for the police.

Unfortunately further protests were inevitable after the government won the appeal to allow the migrants to stay in the hotels. I'm glad it wasn't more serious.

Once again the government are actively working against the interests of the British people. And they have the judges in place to allow them to do it. Shameful.

Jonny with his conspiracy nonsense.

Please provide evidence that the current Government appointed the judges who made this ruling.

Please provide evidence that the ruling was made on any other basis than the law.

An unsupported conspiracy supposition post has been removed

The concerned parents aren't really demonstrating, merely holding a peaceful vigil

The whole country should protest against the Illegal /Non registered Invaders.  The Government  than might get Their Act together and take the side of the people and Not the side of the Invaders and help their own people instead of wasting the tax payers money on Foreigners.

Indeed. Positioning themselves about 3 miles to the left of your average Communist manifesto.

Thank goodness they're failing so badly. It's only their begging bowl keeping them afloat.

They would have a much happier life minding their own business and finding a hobby.

Why do people get so triggered these days over what other people are doing.

Good for the hotel owner with the 100% room booking rate.

I think you will find most people have much better things to do with their time.

Did all this screaming, yelling and fighting change a single thing?

I would rather take a nap.

Oh I don't know...

Maybe because what "other people are doing" is sexually assaulting their children?

If anybody in that hotel is sexually assaulting children the should be arrested, jailed and deported.

Do you have any evidence of this happening and what is their name?

You will find the Masked agitators will be Antifa there the 1s bussed in by the Police to cause trouble then make it look as though the peacefull protesters are blamed for it.

The Somalie owed hotel SOMANI HOTELS LIMITED is making a very good profit as are the other 13 hotels owned by the same owners. Probably due to the fact that they are fully booked by the a British taxpayers paying for Illegal migrants.

Message just in from the Police

I have relatives who live in Loughton and they tell me that they’re p*ssed off  with the overflow of loud, ignorant protesting gammon invading their lovely town.

Oh the irony!

Maybe susanlea can substantiate his/her claim that the police have encouraged support against the far right knuckleheads.

A demonstration totaling 200 people from a town with a population of 12,000.
