  • Go after the employers and this will stop

  • With ICE arresting and deporting so many workers, it is surprising that US employment and job vacancies data are so "strong".

  • No doubt we'll be hearing all of those South Koreans taken by ICE are Jopok members. Probably tatted, too. Will they be deported to Venezuela or Uganda?   Maybe the whistleblower was Trump's

Serves all these global giant firms right.

For bootlicking as they did and as they do, towards the USA for decades.

They should be opening more plants and lower prices rather in Europe or Asia.

“Negotiations for the release of the detained workers have been concluded," a presidential spokesperson announced Sunday. “Once the procedures are complete, the chartered plane will depart to bring our citizens.”

South Korea can't squawk too loud:

Yet under South Korean law, Americans face strict visa and work permit requirements, with enforcement that has often been far harsher than in the United States. In 2017, immigration officials raided international schools in Seoul, including Canadian British Columbia International School and Westminster Canadian Academy, where fourteen teachers at CBIS alone were deported for visa violations.

South Korea has long employed aggressive tactics such as undercover officers posing as students to entrap foreign teachers, searching commuters on the subway, and deporting people for carrying ESL textbooks without a work visa. In 2018, the government ordered all undocumented workers to leave within six months or face 10-year bans. Since the early 2000s, authorities have systematically arrested, detained, and deported irregular migrants, with the crackdown only intensifying in recent years.

Who objects against illegal workers being deported?

Democrats.  But only if Trump's doing it.  When Obama was "Deporter in Chief", that was cool with them.

Trump should have adopted Obama framework and blame Obama if the deportation failed. In particular Obama's policy on prioritizing the seriousness of offence and prosecutorial discretion which Trump's policy failed to provide.

Nonsense. The objections are not to the deportations but the lack of legality in the execution. This has been pointed out time and time again.

I'm a liberal, but I am all in for collecting the Koreans and booting them out of the country IF the facts are facts.

IF they were working construction, as the news reports, boot asap.

There are plenty of American workers, born or naturalized, that could do the job of constructing that plant.

Yes of course!

Damn those pesky Koreanas for taking away jobs from Mexicans!

The numbers as I recall is that there were 500 workers rounded up but 300 were Korean.

The 4 individuals specifically mentioned in the search warrant -- with no indication why -- were of Hispanic names.

That's a crock and you know it.  Or maybe you don't if all you read is the MSM.

La Migra has been notorious for my entire adult life for using tactics and rules that would be unconstitutional for any other agency.  I've been pulled over dozens, maybe hundreds of times to be searched and inspected simply because I was within 100 miles of the border.  Anywhere else in the country or any other agency, and that would have been unconstitutional.  That was back in the 80s, long before Trump.

Watch Cheech's comedy "Born in East LA" if you think La Migra wasn't making occasional errors before Trump.  That movie was made in '87.

La Migra (I call it that because it has gone through many different agencies and put on steroids after 9/11) always got a pass in the MSM for their jackbooted methods.  Until Trump.

I may not care for their tactics, either.  But I don't deal on a daily basis with unvetted people who would just as soon slit my throat as look at me.

With one.of the lowest birth rates in the world, surely S.Korea should want it's citizens returned rather than relying on 250,000 little ghosts from Thailand to bolster their workforce

Oooh, a trick question.

For one, all the employers who employ undocumented workers.

See, just pausing for a moment and thinking can be a wonderful thing.

I was thinking that the figures will reflect badly in the September BLS release.

I have no doubt that Trump will be bleating about "fake" figures as he did about the August figures.

I don't think it is a problem that American workers "could" do the job.

More a case of  American workers "would not" do the job.

No trick question at all, just leading the poster i replied to, since he was and is talking nonsense.

I agree, it should start with going after the employers.

So, it's better to have illegal aliens in the country that are not working?

The employer will be penalized.

Give only 400 of the 1,200 workers were arrested/illegal, apparently there are a fair number of American citizens that will do this kind of work. Perhaps they will have to pay more if they want more workers.

We agree that employers should be punished for hiring illegal aliens, yes? Do we also agree that government agencies and NGOs that provide benefits and services to illegal aliens should be punished as well?

Trump’s ICE Just Wrecked Massive Business Investment Deal for the U.S.

South Korean businesses have suspended at least 22 U.S. projects after an ICE raid on a Hyundai Motor factory site in Georgia detained hundreds of South Korean workers.

The facility was part of a $4.3 billion joint venture that was slated for completion later this year. It was expected to create 8,500 jobs that would support the car company’s nearby electric vehicle plan, but construction on the factory was put on pause after the raid.

Work on at least 22 other factory sites with ties to South Korea has also been halted, reported The Korean Economic Daily. Those facilities are involved in industries related to automobiles, shipbuilding, steel, and electrical equipment. South Korean companies with U.S. business interests have canceled travel plans and recalled their U.S.-based staff, fearing that their employees could be affected by more raids.

White House Apologises for Georgia Raid, Says Hyundai CEO

oh no

Wonder what their working salaries & benefit packages were, compared to what Hyundai was getting charge.   What the differences are, if they were US citizens hired directlly, or even if still subcontracted ... if US citizens.

Surely less salary & benefits, would be their motivation to hire illegal aliens instead of US citizens.

Why USA has Imm laws, to protect US citizens standard of living on higher wages.  Somehow that's not sinking in on many.   Yet they don't like illegal aliens taking jobs in their home countries, and even complain about immigrant workers in other countries like Thailand's use of immigrant workers.

How Imm law enforcement turns into a bash Trump thread shows the delusional thinking and hate of some people.

Work illegal in USA ... DEPORT, BYE BYE, and another better paying job for an US citizen.  More US citizens will be able to provide for their families better instead of dependent on social service hand outs.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP

Trump has since flip-flop and declared that US must allow foreign workers. He added US doesn't have talent to fill jobs and need foreign workers". By the way, those arrested by the immigration raids were contractors involved in the plant construction; the plant has yet to operate and now will be delayed by 2-3 months. That will be lost revenues for the state and lost wages for the locals.

But the next company thinking about hiring illegal aliens won't, and US citizens will benefit, as will all the subcontractors future new hires, now being US citizens, as now they are on the Imm & ICE radar for hiring illegal aliens.

Another win for US citizens.   See how that works ???

Trump was probably referring the high tech workers, which US may lack having enough.   Not construction workers, as plenty of them around that deserve a decent job that comes with a decent salary, if not filled by an illegal alien for less.

Quite the contrary after Trump green light for more foreign workers. This is a sharp pushed back against Maga critics against this H1-B visa flip flop. He is not America first apparently.

On topic ... 500 workers not paying income taxes, into the system that is running on a negative.  That has to stop, along with, guessing, less wages, less spending, and another negative on the economy.

Along with a whole system, to catch and deport illegals, taxing resources and tax dollars that could be used for other things, due to open borders & illegals.

Lack of income into the economy, wastes money spend on and taxing the legal system.   Need to house & feed the criminals, along with expense of deporting them.

Are you all for illegal workers taking jobs from your home country's citizens ???

Don't bother, I know the answer, and just another Trump bash.

... Carry on
