September 22, 2025Sep 22 Hi all. In the U.S., I had an old (1970s) Garden Way Troy-bilt rear tine rototiller that was absolutely awesome. I turned hard pan clay into wonderful soil; breaking ground, adding amendments, weeding and hoeing, hilling and finally tilling under the garden plants after the season finished. I could walk with it guiding by one hand. Our family has 9 rai of fairly decent soil and we'd love to succession plant veggies, increasing number of beds in time. I say all this to ask you folks if you have experience with rototillers available in LOS. I'm looking for recommendations on which tellers are good with parts availability (like replacement tines). I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

September 24, 2025Sep 24 i have an interest as well. Everything seems to be junk or way too big for me. If I had 10 rai, I’d look at the Kubata website.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 You can try facebook, marketplace. Maybe a tractor with tiller in your neighborhood. Ask around in your village. There are secondhand shops selling them, but not always found on internet. Price will vary of course 300KBaht and up. Less when 2 wheeled tractor, but harder to find. OK you can buy also new.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 I had one back in the States, maybe from the 50s. It had 30 in. high tractor wheels filled with water. You just had to point in one direction and adjust every minute or so while you did other things. For a long time I only saw front tine models here in Thailand, but last year there were a couple of sizes of rear tine at the local feed store. Smaller wheels (maybe 16 in.).

September 24, 2025Sep 24 You want something small like this? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/pdp-i5864777778.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.2.5d8a59a5n9YLSM Or perhaps biglier? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/pdp-i5851711586.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.3.5d8a59a5n9YLSM
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Popular Post As for small rotavators, I would not bother, timing must be perfect to dry the machine would just bounce it way across the field doing no good they are just to light, if it is to wet it would be like working in porridge, you would just bung up the blades. The op has 9 rie in English money just over 3.5 Acar, that is a lot of work for a small rotavator, and the guy walking behind it . I would get a local guy in with a tractor and 7-disc plough, or someone with a tractor and rotovator, they should be around 300baht/rie,job done
September 28, 2025Sep 28 Author Popular Post Many thanks. I'm looking for that type of tiller. Looks like it's relatively easy to control. Will make many smaller beds and plant a wide variety of veggies. BTW, I have reversed my diagnosis of type 2 diabetes by switching to a mostly plant based diet. Blood sugar from 128 to 118 in two months. Lost lots of fat, more energy, breathing easier, 40 inch waist to 36 and working on 34 as I type. Dark green leafy vegetables at top of list. If the food has a face or a mom, I don't eat it. Mostly vegan I reckon. B12, supplements, lots of high calcium foods, legumes and lots of kale. Thanks again.
