Shimano 12000D

Featured Replies

I've got the 8000D but would like a bit more line capacity, where can I get one in Thailand.

Thanks

If you find one, post back where.  I haven't shopped for fishing gear in Thailand post Covid.  Before Covid, I'd have looked at 7 Seas, which was tied with the old location of Bunsangram (sp?).  But I don't even know if they still exist.  You may want to look them up online.  They may be able to order one for you?

Which Shimano 12000D, BTW?  Or is there only the Stella?  Those are spendy, even back home.

It's the Shinano 12000D Identical to the 8000D but bigger, had my 8000D's for many years with no problems.

There are many 12000 model Shimanos in different Series at widely varying prices.  (Stradic, Ultegra, Baitrunner, Stella?, etc)

The D in 12000D makes it from the moderately priced Baitrunner Series, and it's not the only 12000 Model in that series.

I was too lazy to look that up...

Glad that 7Seas is still in business.  You can buy stuff there that you'd otherwise have to scrounge 100 small shops for, if you could find them at all in Thailand.

Okay, I've been very happy with the 8000D so I'm sure that will apply to the 12000D.

The Baitrunners (as you know) are great reels.

Years ago, all Shimano reels were great, but then they started selling cheap reels to compete at the low end and some of those are truly junk.

Edit:  Generally speaking, if you get on one of the websites that sells spare parts for Shimano and Daiwa (etc...) reels and they don't stock parts for that series, I'd avoid it.  That's an indication that they're meant to be disposable.

Just received the reel, (very quick delivery)

It's big compared to the 8000D,  it's quality.
