Nartatez, Jr. announced the deployment of various disaster response teams from Police Regional 8 and the Negros Island Region to provide immediate assistance.

The teams include 64 officers from the regional PNP Maritime Units of Regions 6, 7, and 8, along with special units sent to Bogo City, Bantayan Island, and San Remigio. The rapid deployment aims to assist in maintaining peace and order while addressing emergency needs in the affected areas.

Lt. Gen. Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s role in protecting lives through swift action during emergencies. Responding to power outages and aftershocks, PNP personnel also evacuated patients and staff from hospitals, showcasing their commitment to community safety.

Beyond emergency response, police units have been tasked with increasing security at evacuation centers, schools, and infrastructure to ensure safe transportation and distribution of relief supplies. This proactive approach is crucial as the region copes with the aftermath of the quake.
