Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao have been recognized among the Top 10 Islands in Asia by the 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Boracay placed fourth with 90.54 points, Palawan fifth with 90.23, and Siargao seventh with 85.49, based on feedback from over 700,000 global readers. The Department of Tourism (DOT) expressed gratitude to international travelers for this recognition.

This acknowledgment reflects the immense beauty and community efforts in these regions. In past years, including 2024, these islands have consistently been among Asia’s top-rated destinations. Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco highlighted that such awards underscore the dedication of local communities, noting the role of locals in maintaining the country’s natural wonders under the “Love the Philippines” campaign.

Other islands in the top rankings are Phú Quốc, Vietnam; Langkawi, Malaysia; and Koh Samui, Thailand. The inclusion of these islands further cements the Philippines' status as a leading tourist location in Asia. Complementing this achievement, the World Travel Awards has also named the Philippines as Asia’s Leading Beach and Dive Destination multiple times.

Experts respond positively, indicating that these accolades not only boost the nation's tourism profile but also emphasize sustainable travel practices. Frasco urged travelers to support local communities and preserve the islands' natural beauty to ensure they remain attractive and vibrant for future generations. Such measures are vital to maintaining both cultural and environmental integrity.

Moving forward, the DOT plans to continue promoting responsible tourism. Encouraging sustainable practices can help protect these islands from the pressures of increased foot traffic. As the Philippines receives more international recognition, careful management will be crucial in sustaining its pristine environments.
