TOT cooperates with China, Japan, and US in developing 3G systems in Thailand

The TOT Public Company Limited says China, Japan and the United States of America are ready to invest in 3G systems in Thailand.

The TOT Director, Col. Dr. Nalikatibhag Sangsnit (นาฬิกอติภัค แสงสนิท), says progress is being made in discussions with Chinese, Japanese, and American investors in establishing 3G standards in Thailand. Dr. Nalikatibhag says investors are greatly interested in participating in public sector investment between nations. The US has expressed its readiness in providing technical and monetary support for Thailand's 3G systems. Contract bids are currently being drafted between representatives of involved parties.

The TOT Director says bid drafts for foreign investors will encompass practical applications of technology, readily adaptable technology and the transfers of technical knowledge from foreign companies to Thai companies.

I hope not too, but I think that TOT wouldn't jump on the CDMA bandwagon, that's CAT's domain. Plus, they do have HSDPA in the US on AT&T (largest carrier, as far as I know).
