Trump: Israel Could Resume Gaza Strikes If Hamas Breaks Deal

US President Donald Trump has suggested Israeli forces could resume action in Gaza "as soon as I say the word," if Hamas does not honour its ceasefire obligations. In a conversation with CNN, he indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could take military steps if the agreement fails. This follows accusations from Israel that Hamas is not fully complying with the ceasefire terms meant to end the Gaza conflict.

Hamas is expected under the agreement to return hostages, both living and deceased. While all 20 living Israeli hostages have been returned, only eight out of several deceased hostages were handed over. The delay in compliance has already led Israel to reduce humanitarian aid into Gaza, although the ceasefire holds for now.

Trump's peace plan outlines amnesty for Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and disarmament. The plan also offers a path for those wishing to leave Gaza. Violent incidents have surfaced in Gaza, with Trump warning Hamas must disarm or face consequences.

Trump is confident about broader peace prospects, citing support from 59 countries for the ceasefire deal. His administration is also focused on resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visiting the White House soon.

The US President expressed positivity about peace efforts in the Middle East and other regions, notably attributing some success to international support frameworks like the Abraham Accords.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump signals potential Israeli military action in Gaza if Hamas fails in ceasefire.
  • Hostage return and disarmament are crucial focal points of Trump's plan.
  • Trump aims for broader regional peace, supported by international collaboration.

As I've repeatedly said, Israel will not abide by the ceasefire agreement as soon as they get all the live hostages back. I predict they will claim Hamas has broken the agreement by not returning all the dead hostages, and have predicted that for several weeks now. 😞

Spot on.

The whole thing has been a farce from the get-go.

As soon as all the living Israelis are returned, the killing and ethnic cleansing of Gaza will resume.

Hard to understand the logic as to why Hamas not sending back the dead while releasing the living. The dead may have been buried under rubbles from Israel indiscriminate bombing. 83% of all structures and housing units have been damaged in Gaza city. Netanyahu is itching for another round of escalation and need a reason.

For sure.

Anyone who thinks that is funny needs to make Aliyah ASAP.

Hamas bought some time for getting supplies and food. Trying to over the power again. That will push them toward cliff. And they will take the people down as well.

The genocidal rampage in Gaza will restart as soon as the prisoner swap is completed.

You can bet the kibbutz on it.

The realization of a big step toward Eretz Israel  has never been closer or more attainable than it is now.

They have the backing of the USA and no effective opposition in the Middle East or elsewhere.

The "leaders" of neighboring countries are either corrupt, chicken-hearted, or both.

Israel will prevail militarily in the immediate future, but will eventually share the fate of Apartheid South Africa.

Worldwide revulsion and condemnation will destroy them from within sooner or later.

  • 2 weeks later...

So when Israel breaks the truce, what happens? (Israel still killing people on a daily basis, just not so many).
