A foreign tourist was arrested late on October 15 after allegedly assaulting a disabled Thai man in the LK Metro area of Pattaya. The incident caused chaos in the popular nightlife zone, drawing the attention of both locals and tourists. Eyewitnesses reported that the man, described as heavily intoxicated, was subdued by locals and security personnel before police arrived.

The altercation occurred at around 23:50 when the unidentified tourist, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, was seen shirtless and acting erratically. Witnesses said he had arrived at the scene with a Thai woman and became involved in a heated argument over allegedly missing money. During the confrontation, he allegedly pushed a disabled Thai man to the ground, sparking anger among bystanders who quickly intervened to restrain him.

Police, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Suchat Dusadee, deputy chief of Pattaya City Police Station’s patrol division, arrived within minutes to find the foreigner already held by locals. Officers attempted to question him, but he reportedly responded with verbal abuse and spat at police, forcing them to detain him. “Locals were rightfully upset and took matters into their own hands,” Pol. Lt. Col. Suchat said following the arrest.

The tourist was taken into custody for further questioning and substance testing. He faces charges including public intoxication, assault and resisting arrest. His identity and nationality remain undisclosed and police stated he refused to cooperate with authorities during the investigation.

Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage and collecting witness statements to determine if additional charges will be filed. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have reminded tourists to respect local laws and behaviour standards while visiting entertainment zones.

Key Takeaways

Irrespective of his nationality it is time the Thai police started dealing with these drunken clowns hard. The harder the better, large fines (30000 baht+) and instant removal from the country. “Two can Van Damme” here needs to compensate the disabled guy for knocking him to the ground too. Disgusting behaviour and it’s happening way too often.

Where is the one-punch wonder guy when you need him?

A few months in a Thai prison/jail and deportation and a ban would do the trick?

Lucky for him, that he didn't get his ass kicked hard by the security personel.

I hope he gets banned from the country.

Maybe the police should start charging TAT for every tourist arrested.

last call for alcohol.

security "subdued" him, but didn't kick his head in.

what money was missing? his bargirl gf emptied his wallet?

Fines, prison..........these are transient penalties soon forgotten by morons.

Immediate deportation and a lifetime ban is the solution.......and have these incidents heavily publicised at airport passport control/baggage collection.

I must say that those security guys were amazingly subdued in restraining him, perhaps because he didn't run up a huge bar tab before his flip-out.

The way he was yelling for "Tommy(?)" after they tossed him into the back of the police vehicle kinda sounded like he was a Brit or Aussie.

King George V of England had a tattoo on his forearm.

I'm acquainted with a local lawyer in Pattaya and such cases usually end up with a hefty fine, sometimes very hefty.

When we assume we make an ass of u & me.😄

I vote for Muay Thai ring in Tree Town.  Any of these guys can be brought back to reality by a trained fighter who will make you pay for being disrespectful.

Joking aside be glad Thai Police are less like some US Police when you are disrespectful and fail to comply with an order.  Stun gun, face in dirt, knee in your back may realign your attitude.
