Its purpose is to further inculcate a sense of fear in the population that our existence is threatened by the Russian Federation.  In reality it is threatened by the constant provocations of Russia, beginning in earnest with the Maidan Coup and subsequent massacres of ethnic Russians in such places as Odessa and Mariupol.  Although the pressure to neuter and fragment the Russian Federation began earlier than that.

Influential actors that promoted Cold War propaganda - which had some substance but was exaggerated - have interests and mentalities that barely evolved:  'Russian' has replaced 'Soviet'.  The bogeyman is unchanged.

 

Yes, by all means stock up on long-life foods, water, fuel, cash, medical supplies, toilet paper (or adopt Asian habits!) etc.
Our interdependent economies are already collapsing thanks to the feckless behaviour of political leaders, permitted media-sources, commercial and financial influences, and gullibility of the public.

 

We all have a zombie side to our nature that mistakes the pronouncements of "authoritative sources" for gospel truth rather than self-interested narrative.
A succession of chance encounters, in real life and/or with obscure recordings, may be needed to shock us on to a life-long quest for the complex and often contradictory facts that allow us from time to time to glimpse the truth.

 

The sequel to the recent Plandemic has been quite a "wake-up call" for many.
All is not lost.  The people may yet rise up.
