Police in Sa Kaeo province have dismantled a call centre scam operation, seizing a device capable of intercepting phone signals, after discovering a rented property used to operate the network. The raid occurred on 25 October, with authorities uncovering a Sim box capable of hosting 128 SIM cards, alongside modems, CCTV and power backup units. The suspected operator, identified as 39-year-old Ms. Ratchanee from Aranyaprathet district, remains at large as the investigation continues.

The operation followed intelligence from the Police War Room, which had identified phone numbers linked to scams targeting local residents in Mueang Sa Kaeo district. Sa Kaeo provincial police coordinated with the Special Investigation Division of Region 2 to locate the rented room in Tambon Sa Kaeo. A search warrant (No. 149/2568) was issued by Sa Kaeo Provincial Court and executed with local community leaders present to monitor the search.

Inside the property, officers found one Sim box, one internet modem, one CCTV camera, two uninterruptible power supplies and a modem storage box. The tenant was absent at the time, prompting investigators to trace her to her residence in Aranyaprathet district, where she could not be located. Authorities believe she had fled prior to the raid.

Further investigation revealed that Ms. Ratchanee had also rented a condominium on the fourth floor in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi province, where another Sim box with 32 SIM slots was found during a separate police raid on 25 October (search warrant No. ค.903/2568). The connection confirms she is the central figure in both operations.

Officials emphasised that the crackdown aligns with government and Royal Thai Police directives to curb call centre scams and related telecommunications fraud. The seizures of equipment are intended to prevent further fraudulent activity and assist in tracing the network’s operations. Police are coordinating to apprehend Ms. Ratchanee and proceed with legal action promptly.
