A worker was injured when a septic tank truck exploded in a dramatic incident captured on CCTV, sparking widespread concern on social media. The footage, dated 25 October 2025, shows a sudden flash and burst of fire erupting from the top of the vehicle, where a man was working. The explosion tore his shirt apart and caused burn injuries before he managed to climb down for first aid.

The clip, shared online on 28 October 2025, quickly went viral and drew thousands of reactions. It shows the worker tying equipment on top of the sewage truck moments before the explosion occurred. The blast sent flames upward, briefly engulfing the worker and highlighting the extreme danger of working with enclosed tanks containing decomposing waste.

Many online have commented on the likely cause of the explosion. They point to methane gas, a flammable biogas produced by organic waste inside the tank, as the probable source. A small spark from welding, friction or static electricity can ignite the trapped gas, producing a sudden and violent fireball.

Authorities have yet to confirm the location of the incident or whether a formal investigation is underway. Safety experts say the event underscores the need for regulations governing the maintenance and operation of sewage collection vehicles in Thailand.

Key Takeaways

• CCTV footage shows a septic truck explosion injuring a worker on 25 October 2025.

• Methane gas is believed to have ignited inside the tank, likely due to trapped biogas from waste.

• Authorities have not yet confirmed where the incident occurred.

Hope he recovers quickly.

Not a good day at work for him.

They were a case a few years ago that made Thai news, a guy swatting on a Thai loo, he was smoking, and it exploded. His backside was a bit sore.
