The Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) has criticized the sight of cows scavenging for trash on a Caloocan street, urging local authorities to address the issue immediately. In a Facebook post dated October 29, 2025, AKF called on Caloocan's local government to manage the situation, emphasizing the dangers these cows pose to themselves and motorists. AKF highlighted that this issue has persisted in the area, depicting both environmental and safety concerns.

The cows, rummaging through garbage and feeding on waste, create traffic obstructions and risk public safety, according to AKF. The foundation insists this is more than a mere inconvenience, stressing the overlap between animal welfare and public safety. They also demanded accountability from the cows' owners for neglect and urged the city’s veterinary office to ensure humane treatment and relocation.

Social media comments reflected public emotion, with many users advocating for better animal care and stricter regulations. Comments ranged from suggestions to ban farm animals in cities to concerns over the cows' scavenging habits. Another suggested rescuing the cows and relocating them to farms. Despite the outcry, Caloocan's local government has not released an official statement.

AKF continues to seek information about the cows' owners to address concerns over their care and safety. They have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying those responsible, asking those with information to contact them.

Key Takeaways

  • AKF urges Caloocan authorities to address cows endangering the area.
