You’re probably right, that Obama has lost some of his luster (and relevance); I’d rather have a genuine progressive running. Still, I do think that Obama would destroy Trump (or Vance) in a general election.

I tend to agree with you. It's clearly not a done deal about just how or if the vote will be even in 2026. And Obama is clearly not holy. But he would wipe the floor with the felon and is infinitely preferable. We can only hope the economic hurt of Trump II will affect enough of the maga dupes by then to initiate some kind of faltering recovery.
