60 Day Visa,how Many Re-entries Allowed After?

Recommended Posts

Zero, because there is no "re-entry 30 day visa”.

When you arrive in Thailand with your tourist visa, the immigration official will stamp your passport with a permission to stay for 60 days. If you wish you can, any time before the expiration of your permitted stay, apply at any immigration office in Thailand for an extension of stay by 30 days. Is this what you wanted to know?

I see, you are talking about visa-exempt entries. You can still do this but you are allowed to stay in Thailand on visa-exempt entries only for a maximum of 90 days within 6 months, then it’s back to get a visa from a Thai consulate.

Yes in theory you have to show proof of onward travel within those 30 days to get the 30 days excempt stamp. You do know that you can also extend your tourist visa for 30 additional day at 1900 baht.

yeah -- but its quite complicated ,, my wife and i are going to be waiting for our australian skilled independant visa which could take upto 6 months, we have decided to spend that 6 months in and around s.e.asia but fly into and out of bangkok with a 6 month gap in between the flights and we need to plan the trip so we can be back in bangkok 6 months after arriving but want to spend a majority of that time in thailand due to my absolute love of the country ... after reading about new thai visa requirements i just wanted to be absolutly sure we dont get caught out and not be allowed back into thailand for our flight back out ... this site and forum is fantastic and most helpful ... thankyou for the swift replies ... top stuff :o

Sorry for nitpicking but it is not a Visa . It is a 30 day entry stamp. NOT a visa.

it's also possible to get a 30 day extension to a tourist visa, i forget the exact cost i think 1900 baht, 2 photos and copies of all your documents.

and i've heard it is possible to get permission to leave and reenter on a tourist visa but i've never tried it, and don't know what to do to get permission.

Sure is ... with a re-entry permit from Immigration. 1000 baht. ( it does't extend that visa ... it just enables one to stay for the remainder of the original permitted stay.

If you go to Tak, walk over the bridge to Myanmar and pay there 500 THB to immigration. Then you walk back again to Thailand and immigration gives you a new 30 days stamp in your passport. No return ticket or questions there. They only check if you don't exceed the 90 days iin 6 months :o

hi -- i have a 60 day tourist visa,under the new regulations how many re-entry 30 day visas am i allowed ... thankyou :o

It works this way...after 60 days you apply for a 30 day extension from your local immigration office (1,900 baht). At the end of this period you have to go to the border (Ban Laem, for example, on the Cambodian border), and go out and come back in on a 30 day entry stamp. (The cost of this is about 2,200 baht from Pattaya if you go on a group trip. If you go by car by yourself it will cost [excluding petrol] 1,100 for Cambodian stamps and visas, and about 200/300 baht for a tourist ticket in Cambodia [you don't actually go on the tour; the Thais are after proof of a legitimate reason for you to be there. The ticket guarantees this.]) You are allowed to do this 3 times. After your third trip to the border you have to leave Thailand and apply for another 60 day tourist visa from a Thai embassy in another country and start the whole process over again. I go to Penang in Malaysia. At Penang a 60 day tourist visa costs 100 Ringgit (about 1,000 baht). I have seen group trips organised for about 6,000 baht including visa costs. This trip takes about 3 days. You apply one morning and collect the next afternoon. Travel time is on top. I went Air Asia the last two times and if you buy early you can get very good rates, but remember at an an airport they charge you 700 baht departure tax and this is included as part of the ticket costs.

Hope this helps!

I had tourist visa from Penang, got 60 days on arrival in Bangkok. Then I got a 30 days extension at Pattaya immigration office and paid the 1900 bt fee as usual. After the 30 days I could extend another 7 days for the same fee so I decided to drive my car to the border with Cambodia (Pong Nam Ron in Chantaburi province).I arrived there after 2 PM and asked the officer if I could have a 30 days stamp;he sayd ,I give you thirty days I payd my 1 day overstay and they stamped me out. Then the problems started because I needed a document (in a period of 6 months can stay 90 days in the kingdom without a visa) with they told me in an office in Pattaya I could get for 200 bt at the border. The Cambodian guy who helped me fill in the arrival-departure card then took me to the office where they put Cambodian visa in.I paid 1000 bt for it which is correct. Then he took me to the other side for the stamp in and out of Cambodia, they wanted some extra money ofcourse and I gave 100 bt.Then the Cambodian took me to the casino and told to wait for anothe rguy,he would come within 15 minutes. All this was going to cost me 1250 bt.I told him that I was prepared to pay 250 bt,then he started threatening me they would beat me up if I didn´t pay the 1250 bt.So finally I payd them the money and got my stamp. It´s a conspiricy between them. That 30 days stamp cost me 3350 bt plus diesel. So a good advise go with an office on a visa run and be sure you have all the documents.

On the Aran/Poipet border, they ask for a ticket out of Thailand for a date within 30 days, to let people in without a visa. That kind of negates the whole 3 x 30 day theory, doesn't it? Airline tickets can obviously be changed to a later date and used for the next border crossing, but there are extra cost (THB 850 to change an Air Asia ticket) and extra hassle. Maybe I should try to show them a 3rd class train ticket to Butterworth the next time. It's cheaper, and it will most certainly take me out of Thailand :o
