Canadian Travel Boycott to US Still Going Strong

Because the US covers their ass for homeland defense.  Canadian forces, to include their government, couldn't repel a group of Greenpeace hippies in a dinghy 😉

Plenty if not most countries have a problem with the UsA.

So your theory doesn’t stack up.

  • Good for the Canadians. The more tourists that boycott the USA, the better.

  • The fact alone that he even offered them to become the 51st state just goes to show how delusional he really is!    If you ask a Canadian whether they’re American it’s almost an insult to them.

  • Are they sure it's not because the Canadian economy is in the toilet as a result of lefty mismanagement?

Yes.

Any empirical study on your claim. A major US study debunked the myth of Canadian medical refugee.

US life expectancy started to decline since Covid. A large period of the pandemic during Trump’s Presidency. IMO his policies moving away from environmental protection will be harmful for the well being of the people for years to come.

While searching that very topic, I noticed that all of the articles I found claimed that there's very little data available in either direction related to how many Canucks seek treatment in the USA.

I wonder why?

Anecdotally, I do know quite a few Canuck snowbirds that get their healthcare while they're in the states, and quite a few healthcare workers in Wisconsin and Minnesota that love their Canuck patients' money.

My comment stands.  Canada would be a province of Russia if not for the US.  Simple fact.

The use of "would be" in your comment precludes it from being a fact. Simple or otherwise. Facts are about actualities, not hypotheticals.

Good for the Cankuks, I hope they enjoy the miserable, cold wet winter. Florida needs a break from these people.

Uh, yeah, this. Because there is nowhere warm to go other than Florida in the whole wide world 😉😒😎🤣

@howlee101

I'm surprised it's only down 24 or 30%. I'd have thought 50%+ would not travel south, and those that were going had business meetings, relatives there, etc.

On the issue of healthcare, sure there is a waiting list for non life-threatening procedures. But that's the case in UK and other places too. But my understanding is if you have a stroke or heart attack or other urgent case you are seen close to immediately and admitted as such at an emergency room - and it's free. Show up with a drooping face or serious chest pains in a U.S. hospital and they check your private insurance level first.

I don't see this as a problem.  As far as I'm concerned, good riddance.  The US should triple the price of defending Canadian airspace (i.e. NORAD)...better yet, pay equally or defend yourselves.

You clearly miss the point about NORAD. The reason the U.S. is a major participant in NORAD is precisely to engage and shoot down enemy aircraft and missiles OVER CANADA before they reach the U.S.

I didn't miss the point.  The US capabilities can do just that without Canada...ever heard of Alaska?  But if you have any evidence counter to that, please share.

Alaska? Fine if the enemy is flying over Alaska - which it unlikely would. I guess you have Hawaii and Guam too in case China tries something. The point is that NORAD has served both U.S. and Canada well. Otherwise the U.S. wouldn't bother with it. Canada is seen as the place to shoot down the aggressor before he reaches U.S. territory. So the U.S. needs Canada to be on board with that.

Ah, yes. "Enemies", "aggressors", the old Pogo argument. From whom, exactly, do we need to defend ourselves? If it comes to that, it'll all be over in a flash and the radiation will last 100,000 years.

I'm depending on those Greenpeace hippie terrorists and Great Thunberg to save a planet which would be better off without us. As AN proves every day.

Actually, the same with the NATO countries.  Those countries have been under-paying for years.   It's time they pay their fair share or the US should divorce itself from NATO.  The free loaders have been riding the coattails of the US far too long.

Right, so let’s triple the price for the electricity and oil and that Canada supplies to the US, or even better cut it off completely. Don’t b.tch and complain then when lights go out in several northern US states.

The rest of the world has lost its appetite for TACOs.

Oh....suddenly Canadians have money now

We didnt notice. We dont care. Canadian Karens and fake news consumers are better off staying home. Everyone is happy.

Who wants the leftist woke tourists anyhow ? So if the left wing radicals want to boycott America it's fine. As long as they don't come over here and start their socialist, leftist or any anti Trump absurd speeches in public.

How do you know that they are leftists or even woke?

Have you even met any Canadian tourists?

Most countries want tourists. They are in the country for a relatively short time and spend money. Any country makes money from tourists.

Lots of us delegations coming north to plead their case.

From border states to Vegas and LA

They think it's about tariffs 😆😆😄

It's not

Because Conservatives would never voluntarily leave the US for Canada.
