A man’s body was discovered floating near the Pattani River bank in Yala on the morning of 16 November, prompting a police investigation into what appears to be a criminal case. The body was found at around 08:00 by residents of Ban Bado, Village 3, Yupo Subdistrict, opposite Yala’s New Market. Locals alerted authorities immediately after spotting the corpse, which had drifted close to the riverbank.

Rescue teams from Maekoniew Yala and police officers arrived shortly afterward and confirmed the deceased was a man of unknown identity. His hands and feet were tied and the body showed swelling consistent with having been in the water for some time. Officers cordoned off the scene, collected preliminary evidence, and summoned a duty doctor from Yala Regional Hospital to conduct an examination.

Initial examinations have not yet determined the cause of death or time of death. Forensic analysis and autopsy will be required to establish further details. Police stated that the condition in which the body was found indicates foul play.

Investigators are reviewing missing person reports from nearby areas to help identify the victim. CCTV footage from locations along the river is also being checked to gather additional clues. Authorities said the circumstances found means the case is being treated as a criminal investigation from the outset.

Officials are continuing to gather information and are working to confirm the victim’s identity. Police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they focus on tracing the perpetrator.

Navy UDT Seal, German Combat Schwimer, and SBS folks are trained to do just that, us normal non-super human people will last about 10 minutes if you are lucky.🤯
