Been thinking that this was needed for the sake of fairness. Increasing from 7 to 10% over 5 years makes sense too, if one worries about limiting the effect on inflation.

 

Must say that, generally, I am rather impressed by the Anutin mob.

The VAT rate was set, by law, at 10% in 1992.

 

Since 1997, it has been "temporarily" reduced to 7% each year. So, for the past ~ 28 years the reduction has been extended, now through October, 2026.
