Depends on the circumstances. Do you think Venezuela owes us money btw?

Why should you be entitled to military intelligence. Are you denying your own eyes btw?

The Hague. Maybe we should bomb them and take their furtniture.

Who is going to drag anyone from the USA to the Hague? You? Mr. Useless Gestures?

With his pathetic poll numbers now, he's more dangerous than ever.

At least the poll numbers show it's hope for the future US after all. Just hang in there for the next 3 years (God help us all), and we might, just might, have the US back to repairing the damage caused by this administration. It will take time though.

If there will be an election at all, that is. Fascist countries and dictators seem to get away with anything, but my hope is that a clear majority of the US people have had enough, and woken up from their beauty sleep by then.

Germany got past WW II though there are still lingering memories casting shadows. I hope the US can do the same, though if I were a betting man, I wouldn't put money on it, and it will NEVER get back to the country that created the finest middle class in the written history of the planet. Far too much corporate greed and too many politicians sucking the gravy served up by lobbyists.

Every country in the world gets the government its citizens elected!

The best examples of this are the USA and Germany!

Corporate and personal greed.

They will never know if any of this is successful until the street price goes up from lack of product supply.... I guess if you know where the factories are that produce, wouldn't it be easier just to send a missile?

Cocaine prices are up in MN.  Meth and Crack prices are down.  Weed is legal.

Congress is not supportive of Trump’s plan to launch a land attack on Venezuela without a valid reason. Trump has yet to provide a good enough reason to win over Congress and even his own party senators.

Loads of oil there like in Iraq.

I assumed Trump would do this, but I expected him to wait until mid-year 2026, so he could declare the USA was "at war," and the elections would be postponed. 😞 Although the Constution doesn't allow this, Trump does a lot of things that are against the Constituion.

You don't put this kind of military hardwares in the Caribbean Sea and not use them.

Ten ships: the guided-missile destroyers USS Gravely, USS Stockdale and USS Jason Dunham; the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima and the amphibious transport docks USS San Antonio and USS Fort Lauderdale; the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie and 15,000 troops plus another 5,000 in Puerto Rico bases.

Question is whether he will defy Congress to launch an attack or TACO in humiliation.

You do. Its called Gun Boat diplomacy. Britain did it all the time in the 19th Century. Actual shooting was actually very rarely used. But there are limits.

The US and West exercised more than a decade of gunboat diplomacy against Iraq; using limited and not so limited military operations to influence Iraqi policy. It failed, hence the 2003 invasion. Since 1979, the US has used gunboat diplomacy against Iran. Been an utter failure.

Venezuela; the US might have persueded itself that there is an army of unhappy Venezuelans all waiting for the slightest cue to overthrow Maduro, with the US in and out, and happy days. Its what we thought would happen in Libya. The US is no doubt fed lots of intel by Venezuelan emigres. Thats what we were told in 2003; that the US had contacts within the Iraqi military, all ready for the order to go. It was completely wrong.

The US could launch air attacks against targets in Venezuela, probably to start off with claimed drugs labs, drug lords villas. Nothing much for the West to see except explosions in the jungle. Inevitably a stick of bombs will drop on a school or something. Always happens when the Americans are around.

We might even see US air assets take on Venezuela's F16s, interesting for the schoolboys. There will have to be an air assault on Caracas, but its not like Panama or Greneda (though the Americans made a meal of that). But there is a danger that it might turn into something like the USSR's invasion of Afghanistan.

A new government had arisen, following elections, in Afghanistan, that was less than pro-Russian, and it was in the Soviet Unuon's back yard. Spetznatz were sent in, to assasinate the government, and succeessfully secure Kabul. Soviet land forces rolled across the border, to support the pro-Soviet oppressed masses, and friendly local military. The war bled the USSR dry, leading to an humliating retreat, and which was probably one of the major reasons the USSR collapsed.

Germany got past WW II

At great cost.

After WW1, Germany felt aggrieved, and as a result, Corporal Hitler had his shot.

After WW2, Germany was ruined. What was crucial for the rehabilitation of West Germany (forget East Germany) was the acceptance of what Thomas Mann stated.

Mann had won the 1929 Nobel prize for literature. He was the epitome of German culture. He didn't think much of Hitler, but he didn't believe the Nazis would amont to much. He was outside of Germany, on a book tour, when warned not to come back. He returned in 1945, and spoke about Germany and the Germans.

For him, there was no Good Germans and Bad Germans, just German. The German culture ewas responsible for the rise of the Nazis. It did much to encourage the acceptance of guilt.

That never happened in the DDR. There they were told it was all the fascists fault. Its no surprise that its in the former East Germany that the AfP is strongest.

A ploy to reclaim the oil for Exxon. The only drugs Trump cares about are Adderall and Cocaine.

Has U.S. Intelligence made yet another mistake ?
High on dope, maybe ?
Getting mixed up and imagining Venezuela is Mexico or Colombia ?

Rather as they once imagined their naval vessels were attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin, that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, that wars against such backwaters as Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, etc would be a pushover ?

Latterly, persistent NATO provocation has led to a violent response deemed to justify punitive sanctions aimed at impoverishing the Russian people causing them to rise up and not only topple their government but also tear their resource-rich country apart into multiple chunks readily exploitable by major western financial interests.

Such a simple plan !  Where can it have gone wrong ?

Could it be that that the Russian Federation is so much stronger and more resilient than other countries the U.S. has in the recent past fought so successfully, as viewed by certain plutocratic interests ?

Very sad to see.

"Bomb the Hague?" Wow.  "Steal from it?" How exactly does this fit in with being the Party of 'Christian Values'?  Perhaps these days, there is nothing there except the sound of the name.

The USA is Judeo Masonic Republic. The USA has the same so called "Christians values" that Israel has and use to treat the Palestinians. Trump prefers girls I think. He used to talk a lot about his daughter in a very sexual way. So It would be a surprise if he did that to his daughter.

Who cares what Trump likes or dislikes. if it is YOUR husband father, son, daughter that comes back to you in a body bag? He and the entire USA are the losers and HE doesn't give a f/f about ANYBODY but himself. He was born a physical coward, imaginary bone spurs and all, and will always be one.

Only three possibilities for regime change,

1. Revolution

2. Forced change through US action

3. Negotiated transfer of power (maybe after limited assaults by the US)

Largest oil reserves on earth are not to be sniffed at.
