A Thai man from Hat Yai district, Songkhla, has been joyously reunited with his two pet dogs after a viral video showed him in tears, forced to leave them behind in severe floods. The incident, captured across Thai social media, depicted the elderly man on a rescue boat, unable to bring his dogs due to strong currents. His emotional distress resonated with viewers who shared in his relief upon their reunion.

The video featured the man, identified later as Narong, aged between 65 and 70, who was evacuated from his flood-hit home. During the evacuation, Narong continuously looked back and attempted to return to his house to rescue his pets. Rescuers were seen comforting him as he struggled with leaving his beloved dogs behind, and continued to express his distress at the evacuation center.

The situation drew immense public sympathy, with Thai netizens expressing support and hope for Narong's reunion with his pets. A heartening update arrived on November 27 when Narong's daughter confirmed on TikTok that her father had located both dogs, named Mhee and Moo Daeng. The emotional reunion was celebrated widely, evidenced by photos of the safe dogs with Narong.

Narong, in an emotional interview, shared his overwhelming relief and sorrow from the ordeal, expressing his gratitude for the rescuers. He continually worried for his dogs' safety during the floods, even considering desperate measures to save them. His story has been a poignant reflection of the deep bond between people and their pets, inspiring empathy throughout the nation.

This incident highlighted broader challenges faced during natural disasters, as rescuers reported numerous similar stories. Many individuals refused evacuation without their pets, showing the critical role animals play in human lives. Another remarkable rescue involved an elderly woman who clung to her pet cat for three days atop a tree before being rescued, reported The Thaiger.

Great to see. The older we get the more we cherish our animal friends.

My Thai mother-in-law once remarked to my daughter that I seem to love dogs more than people. My response to her was simple: she was absolutely right, as dogs do not deceive.
The message was unmistakable.
I am genuinely pleased for this individual—having his dogs returned to him is truly wonderful☺️

My dogs have never lied to me only stole an unattended sandwich or ten.

One time had six GSD's/Alsatians, sadly now only 4, in the daughters arms they are big stuffed teddy bears, with the wife fearsome bodyguards for me they are 24hr security for my w/shop, bikes and peace of mind.

Well trained, fed and loved dogs can bless a home.
