December 8, 2025Dec 8 Picture courtesy of The Nation The Thai government, through spokesman Siripong Angkasakulkiat, has criticised Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen for posting an old photo of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The image shows Anutin dining with the governor of Pailin province and is claimed to be used in a "scammer-style" attempt at blackmail. Siripong emphasised that the photo is outdated and from a time of harmonious relations between Thailand and Cambodia. Historical context indicates Anutin's visit was routine, occurring during a period without border tensions. Siripong contended that Hun Sen’s actions resemble those of fraudsters using personal material to manipulate individuals. Despite the release, Anutin remains unfazed and reinforces that personal ties cannot impact Thailand's sovereignty. Siripong assured public trust in Thailand's military and foreign ministries, who have effectively managed international borders. He encouraged confidence in Prime Minister Anutin and the Thai government's efforts to maintain peace amid current border disputes. Siripong dismissed Hun Sen's move, stating that the focus remains on protecting national sovereignty rather than past relationships. The spokesman questioned Hun Sen’s intent, suggesting the post could aim to provoke animosity against the Thai Prime Minister. However, Siripong maintained that the Thai nation stands united in prioritising sovereignty over personal history. The situation highlights ongoing regional tensions, but Thailand reaffirms its commitment to maintaining boundary stability and governmental professionalism, reported The Nation. December 9, 2025Dec 9 What exactly are the names of the 4 individuals from left to right? Wouldn't normal journalistic practice be to list them? I know of course which one is Anutin (I've even seen him in person). The one on the far left looks vaguely like Hun Manet, but I don't think it's him. Thanks.
