A woman prioritized the safety of her dogs during a fire in Brgy. Guizo, Mandaue City, Cebu, which went viral on social media. In a post shared by Ivy Baya on Facebook, the woman was seen throwing her dogs from the third floor of a burning building to rescuers below. The incident occurred at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10.

Firefighters from the Mandaue City Fire Station arrived at the scene to find the fire already extensive and immediately raised it to a second alarm. The blaze was brought under control by 7:50 AM and officially declared out by 8:22 AM. Only one individual was reported injured during the incident.

Despite the video capturing significant attention, it has since been removed from Ivy Baya's Facebook account. The woman's actions have sparked discussions online about pet safety during emergencies and the lengths to which people will go to protect their animals.

Experts note that quick actions in emergencies can make a significant difference. Authorities emphasize awareness and preparedness as crucial during such events. There hasn't been any further update on the investigation into the fire's cause.

Looking forward, community discussions may focus on enhancing fire safety measures and emergency response protocols in residential areas. This incident could lead to more education on emergency preparedness for both people and pets in urban communities, reported Balita.
