The "frequent posters". Where are their posts?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Here on AN, on the right side, there are listed "the most frequent posters of the week". Some manage between 2 to 500 posts a week. Only a fraction of them appear on AN.

Why list them if you can not read most of their posts on AN?

Yes it may be a number of things

All I ask is you show some empathy, surely

I don't want to show emphaty, I want to know why I can't read most of the posts that "frequent posters" post, but I can not read them on AN.

A simple question.

At this point, it might be necessary that "AN Moderators" take a stand.

I was wondering about the same thing. How do they ever sleep?

I remain: Where are those posts as they do not appear on AN?

I think you are misreading the box on the right side of your screen. Check and see if it says frequent posters or Popular Contributors?

I think @Ballpoint answered your question in your thread from Sunday. It is the number of positive emojis that a poster gets. So if a poster made 10 posts and received 10 positive emojis on each post he would have a 100 points.

I believe I read a thumbs down emoji counts as a -1 and a broken heart is a 0. Not sure if all the rest are a +1 or worth something else.

Please post a screenshot where "The most frequent posters of the week" are listed. I can only see "Popular Contributors" - members who have received most "likes".

Says the man with 21k posts......

Ah, never mind I retract that, apologies. I looked at the list. 40k, 80k, 90k, 100k, 140k posts. Wow.

On holiday. The resident brown shirt instigator "content" has stopped. I expect that he will recycle into a new identity. Until then you must make do with the  cadre who rely on their cut and paste and chat program genrated content.

The AI chat programs, especially those used by the Russian and Chinese bot farms are state of the art and can generate hours of content with little effort.

I can see them; you probably posted so much slop they throttled you.

Try posting LESS.

I see no point in listing the 'Frequent Posters'. Surely it is quality not quantity that AN should highlight.

Many posts are trite, trivial and kneejerk in nature. I enjoy reading the Posters who think before they type and who have something to say, (whether I agree with them or not !)

This flippin 'broken heart' symbol is confusing i.e. is it to express approval or disapproval ?

Nice day all.

Ok Furioso - I get it. Cheers.

Have you tried clicking on their name then click on post history ?

Should show all of their comments.

Ure Swiss?,,, mmm, sunstruck  maybe.!

I asked a similar question 6 months ago.  The answer was that it's not a post count.  It included other variables like feedback emojis.  I've actually been on the board on days where I only made a few posts.

BTW, I think the best way to get on the board is to post "Trump sucks" all over threads that aren't even about the USA.  But I may be wrong there...

Wow.

People care about the posting frequency scores?

Who knew?

Maybe you should read what others here explain. If you can´t understand that it might be good that you can´t read everything. It would just complicate things for you.

@swissie

Then there's the ones who were long time posters on the leader board who just mysteriously fall off the face of the earth.  I'm not referring to the serial name changers, we know who they are.  One long timer vanished around March.  Based on posting history I'm 50/50 whether it was a medical issue or sex crime that led to the sudden disappearance.

There are some rather intelligent and eloquent members of this forum. But, there are also some rather dogmatic ones too, and some who refuse to post any real content, and instead spend their time insulting members of this community. There is no place for that kind of silliness here. We can make comments on political policy, and political nitwits, without making it personal amongst members. We all have to strive to have thicker skin. It's a great quality.

Yes, it really is terrible, I even had some insult my beautiful girlfriend viciously recently. Some people stoop so low it's breathtaking.

You must be talking about the American politics threads........

Its funny, 'the most popular' poster on the right hand side commonly has the most thumbs down!
