Putin Calls European Leaders ‘Swine,’ Threatens Wider War In Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a blistering verbal attack on Europe on Wednesday, branding Western leaders “swine” who wanted to “feast on the collapse of Russia,” while warning that Moscow will expand its war in Ukraine if its demands are not met.

Speaking at an annual meeting with senior Russian military commanders, Putin rejected any chance of accepting a revised US-backed peace plan and doubled down on the Kremlin’s long-standing justification for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Putin said Russia “would prefer” to achieve its goals through diplomacy but warned that if Ukraine and its Western backers refuse what he called “substantive dialogue,” Moscow would pursue its objectives “by military means,” including the seizure of what he described as Russia’s “historical lands.”

The Kremlin continues to define the war’s so-called “root causes” as Ukraine’s ambitions to join NATO and the EU, alleged discrimination against ethnic Russians, and claims of “denazification” — accusations repeatedly made without evidence since Russia launched its invasion in February 2022.

Putin again blamed the West for starting the war, accusing the previous US administration under President Joe Biden and European allies of provoking Russia and seeking to profit from its collapse.

“European swine wanted to feast on the collapse of Russia,” Putin said, using a slur previously employed by former President Dmitry Medvedev. He added that Europe has undergone “complete degradation” and lacks any true civilisation.

Despite his rhetoric, Putin said dialogue with Europe would eventually be “inevitable,” though likely only after a change in European political leadership. He suggested the United States was already showing greater willingness to engage with Moscow.

Putin also used the address to highlight Russia’s military strength, boasting that 92 percent of its nuclear forces have been modernised and claiming no other nuclear power can compete. He confirmed that Russia’s new nuclear-capable Oreshnik ballistic missile will formally enter combat service this month.

Nearly four years on and the Russian psychopath has only captured a fifth of a country which is roughly 28 times smaller geographically and with a population nearly four times smaller.

Of course if the war stops it's difficult to see what Putin can do apart from jumping out of a window.

So many lives lost due to a madman's imperialist daydreams.

Seems Putin wants to invade the rest of Europe.

Hopefully there are some sensible people left at the Kremlin who will remove him from power.
