Try reading my posts. I'll try one last time.

Crazies can't get guns. They are not accessible. Say in your constantly repeated scenario of this "crazy" - if there are no guns on the market, if private ownership is severely restricted or banned then your "crazy" won't be able to get one will he?

OAhhhhhh, but what if a crazy has one already and keeps it? That's your golden nugget isn't it? Maybe one does. But the next 10, 20, 100 "crazies" won't be able to. So you would rather have guns accessible to all "crazies" in future just in case one or two keep theirs today? Do you see there is no logic to what you are saying at all?

Again, read my posts above. Read about what the UK did, read about the results since. End of argument. The faces are there. Case closed.

The 2 crazies used licensed guns though. Same can happen again.

UK gun deaths were higher in 23/24 than 14/15.

4 million gun owners and no mythical good guy with a gun.

How many times have people stopped a mass shooting in America? Very few.

Quite a lot if not all are in areas that aren't 'gun-free' zones, which is why spree killers choose to kill so many in them. No-one has a gun or often even a weapon of anykind to protect themselves. So along come the police to try and stop it.

Mall shootings are often in 'gun free zones' as well, but some have been stopped there, and church shootings have had them eliminated promptly too. Guns aren't going back in the genie bottle so buck-up your pants.

Trouble is, a lot of soldiers get them mixed up.

if the criminals have guns,  the police have guns and the military have guns why can't the normal law abiding citizen have a gun to defend themself from all of the above ?

I'll ignore your paragraph of deflection but, as to the above, any of these professionals would have shot you dead before you had time to find your gun. So drop the macho, eh.

There's another number that explains that.  You can find it in the FBI gun crime and murder statistics.  But if you dare to notice it, you'll be called out as a racist.

The USA doesn't have a gun problem, we have a culture problem.  Or, rather, a problem culture.

Whoo-hoo! You sure know how to call a spade a spade. They learned it from the NRA.

Why would a professional want to shot me? more likely a criminal or less so a terrorist would want to shoot innocent citizens...if I had a gun I might be able to defend myself.

Just like the old west. You guys are primitive.

One can only conclude that Americans are brainwashed by war movies, by NRA lobbyists, arms merchant lobbyists who butter the backsides of US pols. Military conscription, fallen heroes, unknown soldiers. War glorified.

We need some creative ideas about how to reverse the brainwash and actually educate Americans to have some humanity.

For Americans, gun are a useful tool, like for shooting abortion doctors.

Full disclosure. I am well-known as an antigun advocate. But you may not know I’m a gun owner.

My great-grandpappy fought for the Union in the US Civil War. He was wounded at Battle of Gettysburg, like Forrest Gump, he was running away and was shot in the buttocks. Got a pension for the rest of his life.

Civil War soldiers were allowed to bring their weapons home. (Probably started all this gun bulls*it!) I tried to give his flintlock to a NJ Museum but they said they already had a closetful.

Don’t tread on me! I’ll bash ya with my flintlock!

Interesting that so many illegal guns in the US are bought at gun fairs (great entertainment for foreign tourists to see the real America!). One can be taught how to make silencers, turn weapons fully-automatic, negotiate for machine guns aso.

Where do you think the cartels buy their guns???

How about those signs near schools stating: “Gun-free school zone”? What sane country would have to do this?

Incidentally, this is the one post on AN to which I couldn’t summon up a laughing emoji.
