Yes a lot of this about legacy.

He's naming things Trump like it's going out of style.

He already named a memorial (Kennedy center) after himself.

He wants to see his hoped for posthumous memorials before he can't see anything.

I'm surprised there aren't already Trump High Schools in maga fascist states.

Amusingly enough, it seems he doesn't even realise that putting a person's name on a "Memorial Center" means that person is already deceased.

I think it's become quite obvious by now that the people who elected him had no idea who they elected and they grossly over estimated his potential as a decent leader.    He gets an F grade

Vance wouldn't remove sheit.

The Kennedy Center change is actually illegal.

And some of Kennedy's surviving relatives are less than pleased about this whole debacle.

He's doesn't realize a lot of things. Even before the dementia kicked in.

I mean no disrespect to dementia sufferer or their carers.

But such people should not have access to nuclear weapons.

Not only is most of the world laughing (and pitying) at America now, but it's enemies are popping the champagne. Don't need to defeat them. They've defeated themselves by putting Trump into power -- AGAIN.

Can somebody please put the dotard in a straitjacket already. With ball gag of course.

Very strategically important part of the world. Trump has China on his mind with this.

It's good to have friends

Like Europe used to be before tariff wars and siding with the object of his affection Putin.

He even made Csnada an enemy.

Greenland is becoming strategically more important as the Arctic ice melts, allowing Chinese and Russian ships to pass between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans in record time via the Northern Passage.  A Chinese container ship recently sailed to the UK using this route, arriving in around half the time normally taken. Greenland is to the European end of the passage what Gibraltar is to the Mediterranean, so is worth controlling.  Therefore, Trump is raving about the consequences of the melting of the Arctic ice sheet on one hand, while denying it's even happening on the other, while his remaining supporters lack the wherewithal to even spot the irony in that.

Every great leader must have a geopolitical appetite for a particular territory. This is normal. Americans shouldn't be shy about this. For example, President Vlad has an appetite for Ukraine, while General Secretary Kim Jong Un wants Seoul.

It is interesting though that Europe is now importing more US oil products as it cuts it's reliance on Russian oil. Of course the EU is also dependent on the US militarily.

They would be open to even much more as long as the US is a trusted ally, rather than an off the rails new enemy led by a Putin lover.

So what's behind this?

Trump positioned himself with the ideology of might makes right dictators especially Putin and against traditional US allies, small l liberal European democracies.

So Denmark is part of Europe and now an enemy of the U.S.

Even weirder the vast majority of Americans DO NOT support this massive policy shift.

Yes he was elected but not to do crap like that.

I think it's become quite obvious by now that the people who elected him had no idea who they elected and they grossly over estimated his potential as a decent leader.

He gets an F grade this far. Such a flunkee.

China has already been kicked out of infrastructure deals since 2018.

Quite the Christmas present for Americans. Thank you Sir, on behalf of all of us. Greenland will be an awsome addition. Islands are great but Hawaii is ruined by all the liberals there and the Keys by heat and tourism.

Welcome to the family Greenlanders.

You misunderstand. The Arctic region is strategic in terms of a Russia/China alliance. This is what Trump doesn't want. He wants US military assets permanently based in Greenland and why he's getting icebreakers built in Finland with their expertise to be eventually brought back to the US. As I said this region is very strategically important.

In terms of Russia/China alliance it's the North East passage (or Northern sea route), and it's already working. It's under Russian and Nordic countries' control. As to the NW passage, it's largely under Canada's control. See map.

Greenland is already part of NATO and there is already a permanent US military presence there. As far as I know, Greenland or Denmark have never been opposed to an increase in US miliary presence.

It's just another Trump BS!🤣

I'm a tad surprised that Trump hasn't offered to give back Alaska and the gay resort town of Russian River, California to his Russkie idol Putin in exchange for a Trump Tower Moscow and a Margarine Lardo 2 in Sochi.

Some Americans are actually defending this!

Please pass the vomit bag.

Of course the vast majority of Americans are not in favor of such land grabs and attacks on Europe, but too bad, too many of them got SUCKERED. The greatest con man who ever lived strikes again.

AI. U.S. operates one main military installation in Greenland: Pituffik Space Base, formerly known as Thule Air Base, a critical Space Force base for missile warning, defense, and space surveillance, operating under a defense agreement with the Kingdom of Denmark. The base is strategically vital, supporting U.S. space superiority from its northern vantage point, and while its personnel numbers have decreased since the Cold War, it remains the sole U.S. military base on the island

And they say the Russians and Chinese are the territorial aggresive ones.

The no wars president , attacks Iran , Panama channel, bombs some Afican countries about to take on Venezuela , starting with piracy , later Cuba AND wants Greenland.

The good he is doing is not in balance with all the bad.

For once the EU monster is right , but again nothing to back it up with.

I think you forgot a small country just north of the border?

Agreed. The president Trump`s geopolitical erectile function is absolutely normal in relation to such an attractive piece of land.

Envoys do not require approval from host nations, allowing Trump to apply pressure without formal diplomatic channels — a tactic likely to further strain relations with allies as Arctic competition intensifies.

However they can be declared "personna non grata" and refused entry to the country which they are supposed to be acting as an envoy to.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Norway cannot protect Greenland from Russia. Look what happened to Norway in WW2. President Trump will make Greenland Great Again.

This really isn't something to laugh about. Trump's destructiveness is destroying America from within and without. I really never thought that GW Bush's financial armageddon would ever be surpassed. But Trump has managed to do so.

Not really that surprised. In 1945, you would have struggled to find a German admitting to voting for Hitler. But someone did.

74% of people vote Republican in the 2024 election in Dawson County, Nebraska.  Dawson County is pretty much Lexington, population about 11,000. The number 1 employer in town is Tyson; 1 in 3 of the inhabitants works at the plant. Now they are all out of work

Probably the rest of the town is highly dependant on the plant one way or the other. That city is now finished. Families will move away to seek work. But its ok, because America has made sure Argentinian meat producers are all ok. They could emigrate.

Then he needs to legalise the hardest of hard drugs, like crack, so that we can all enjoy Berserkers again. Don't google. They were a bit gay, or at least the 21st Century renditions are.
