I've said it before and I'll say it again sometimes it appears as if Israel has learned nothing from the Holocaust. One would think that due to the history of the Jews, and due to the levels of racism and hatred shown toward the Jews throughout history that a nation founded upon that faith would tread rather carefully against its neighbors. But it's quite obvious at this point that it's not about Israel versus the extremist elements within the Palestinian nation. It's about erasing the Palestinian people from the face of the earth.

 

This is not a war, this appears to be closer to absolute extermination. And for the US to have allied themselves so closely with Israel, without questioning their policy, without standing up with any sense of moral conviction when the genocide was taking place, was not only appalling, but it was utterly repellant to billions of people around the world. So how does that not result in blowback? 

 

And how is that not proof positive that Trump is not a man of peace, but rather a man of war?

I think Netanyahu compromised the Jewish people's moral authority and status as victims of the Shoah by what they did in the Gaza. Israelis are not victims. They don't want your B.S. "status" as victims. They're gonna be as bad ass as it takes to survive and thrive. "Moral authority" and five bucks will get you a latte at Starbucks.

Your justification that Israel needs to do "whatever it takes to survive" is based on the "never again" response to what happened during the Holocaust, is it not? I'm sorry, but I will reassert that part of the Jewish moral authority aside from the precepts of the religion comes from their status of being the victims of the Holocaust and current day anti-Semitism, and that a lot of goodwill and empathy towards the Jewish people has been lost by how they responded to 10/07/23.
