Police at Thian Talay station are hunting a gang of assailants after four teenagers were injured in a violent attack involving knives and a homemade explosive in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thian district. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries after being slashed with a blade and struck by a ping-pong bomb during the incident in the early hours of 26 December 2025. The attack has raised concerns over escalating youth violence in the area.

The incident occurred at about 1.00am on 26 December near the bridge over Sanam Chai Canal on the Phra Pradaeng expressway frontage road in Tha Kham subdistrict. Police Lieutenant Pachar Pumrit, a deputy investigation inspector at Thian Talay Police Station, received reports of a gang fight with multiple casualties and led officers from investigation and patrol units to the scene. Four injured teenagers aged between 15 and 16 were found with slash wounds and abrasions and all were taken to PMG Hospital for treatment.

According to a friend of the victims, identified only as Mr A, the injured group had been travelling on seven motorcycles from Bang Khun Thian–Chai Thale Road before turning left onto the Phra Pradaeng expressway frontage road. While waiting at a red light near Khun Kala intersection, they noticed another group of youths turning towards Anamai Ngam Charoen Road. Near a convenience store, the attackers reportedly turned back, chased the teenagers, attacked them with knives and threw a ping-pong bomb, causing multiple injuries.

Police investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify and track down the suspects. Officers from Thian Talay Police Station confirmed that efforts are under way to locate those responsible and gather evidence for prosecution. No arrests had been announced at the time of reporting.

The attack has highlighted ongoing concerns about late-night gang violence involving teenagers and improvised weapons. While no official statements from external agencies were released, police have indicated that the use of explosives, even small homemade devices, significantly increases the risk of serious injury or death. The case has prompted renewed attention to surveillance coverage and rapid response in high-risk areas.

Daily News reported that authorities said further updates would follow as suspects are identified and questioned. Investigators are expected to expand CCTV analysis and interview witnesses to establish motives and possible links to previous incidents. Legal action will proceed once the perpetrators are located.
