A 57-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight in Trang province on 2 January 2026, losing cash and valuables intended to cover her husband’s heart surgery, prompting calls for swift police action. The incident, captured clearly on CCTV, occurred as the victim was riding her motorcycle alone and was approached by a teenage suspect who calmly fled the scene after the theft. The crime has caused distress locally due to its timing, visibility, and the vulnerable circumstances of the victim.

The robbery took place at about 9.05am on the Trang–Palian Road in Village 4, Ban Khuan subdistrict, Mueang Trang district. CCTV footage shows a teenage male suspect wearing a navy shirt and black trousers, without covering his face, riding a black-and-grey Honda Scoopy motorcycle of unknown registration. He pulled alongside the victim’s white-and-red Honda Wave 110 and snatched her shoulder bag while both motorcycles were moving.

The victim, identified as Mrs Sutjit, aged 57, from Khok Phla village in Khok Lo subdistrict, lost a bag containing important documents, a mobile phone, about 10,000 baht in cash, and a gold ring weighing two salung valued at about 32,000 baht. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at nearly 50,000 baht. After the incident, she stopped briefly at the roadside before returning home to inform relatives and later reported the crime to Mueang Trang Police Station with the assistance of her son.

Mrs Sutjit told police she had been caring for her husband, who has been hospitalised at Trang Hospital since 19 December 2025 following heart surgery. She had just left the hospital to return home without stopping anywhere else and was slowing down to buy food when the suspect struck. She said the cash belonged to her husband and was intended for medical expenses, and that she did not know the attacker.

Khoasod reported that police have circulated the suspect’s description and vehicle details via radio and are actively searching for him. Local residents have urged authorities to act quickly, noting the audacity of the crime in a busy area during daylight hours and the fact that the suspect made no effort to conceal his identity.
