We were on the scene of a dramatic arrest of a Thai man accused of committing a robbery at a house in Jomtien belonging to a French National. Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi oversaw the case which saw the arrest of Khun Nai aged 36, suspected of breaking into a house at the Jomtien Nivet Village. The house is owned by Mr. Daniel Lucien Durand aged 58 who was out at the time of the suspected robbery. A neighbor spotted activity inside the house and immediately alerted the Police who arrived very quickly and surrounded the residence.

The suspect eventually gave himself up and returned stolen items including earrings, a Gold Monk Image, two wrist watches and some cash. A screwdriver and a knife along with the suspect’s motorbike were seized as evidence. He was taken to Pattaya Police Station where he confessed to the theft and explained that his Wife is eight month’s pregnant and is no longer able to work. The pair was experiencing financial problems and Khun Nai decided to enter a life of crime to supplement his small income.
