Two secondary school students were injured during a morning rush hour accident on January 21 in Sai Noi district, Nonthaburi. A car driven by 92-year-old Assani collided with their motorcycle as he turned into a side street, resulting in injuries to both students who were taken to Sai Noi Hospital. The crash occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Sai Noi–Wat Yot Road, prompting a response from Sai Noi Police and Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue workers.

Assani, who remained at the scene, claimed the motorcycle was speeding when it struck the left side of his sedan. However, the father of one of the injured students contended that Assani's car turned across the motorcycle's path. Both students suffered injuries to their ribs and arms, impacting their mobility.

Kritchai Sriyooklat, a nearby shop owner and assistant subdistrict chief, recounted hearing a loud crash and found the students injured on the road. He assisted in managing traffic and alerted the police and rescue services. Police noted that Assani had previously been involved in two similar incidents at this location, with CCTV allegedly showing him making the turn without slowing.

Looking ahead, police will continue questioning Assani at Sai Noi Police Station and reviewing CCTV footage for further insights. The investigation aims to establish the crash's circumstances and determine appropriate actions, reported The Thaiger.

92! Credit to him - no laws here if over a certain age - test eye test for driving - any licence etc or just ah let him do

secondary school students... did they have the right age, wearing a helmet and not speeding??? zOf course they are not to blame it is the 92 yr old man.. If he stayed at home the accident would not have occurred... Simple minded thoughts....I have never seen a motorcycle slow down for any reason.. There is only one speed and even they hardly avoid you as they seems to see nothing when they are on a motorcycle

I have lost count of the number of times I've signaled for a left turn, only to find a motorcycle (or several) overtaking on the inside. Occasionally it happens when turning right too.

IMO the driver (me) turning left or right from the main road is responsible for ensuring that there is nothing alongside. Mirror check, shoulder check, is what I was taught.

I think this old chap is lucky nobody was killed. It would be dreadful to know that you are responsible for ending the life of a youngster.
