DPWH Orders Navotas Dike Repairs Completed by February

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has ordered the full repair of the damaged Navotas Coastal Dike to be completed by February. This directive comes as the agency aims to ensure the structure meets safety standards to protect surrounding coastal communities from flooding risks. DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized that the company responsible for the damage, Manfel Cargo Shipping Corp., must undertake the restoration.

The dike was damaged last year when more than 50 meters of it was impacted by a vessel owned by Manfel. He also mentioned that another contractor, High Tone, has successfully completed repairs on a different section of the dike.
