AXA Global Health Plan - Does anyone have experience with?

Featured Replies

I am thinking about signing up for AXA Global Health Plan (the inpatient plan only). Does anyone have experience with the AXA Global Health Plan or any other Global AXA plan (not Thailand AXA)?

Ideally, if i need to go to an emergency room, for example, and that turns into an inpatient stay, I would like to be able to just present the insurance card (or the policy number) and the hospital simply admits me and bills AXA Global Insurance directly. Pre-COVID, I had Bupa insurance, but only used it a few times for outpatient services. With Bupa, when I accessed outpatient services at any private hospital in Chiang Mai (that was part of the Bupa network), all I had to do was show my Bupa insurance card and everything would be covered. As I am currently living south of Pattaya in Sattahip, any experience by anyone at Bangkok Hospital - Pattaya regarding AXA Global would be really helpful. Thanks.

Out of interest, why not AXA Thailand? For years I had international health insurance with them, from their office on Sukhumvit, North Pattaya. My wife had domestic cover only. We both had multiple inpatient claims, my biggest about 1.2M, all paid direct to the hospital (BHP) by AXA without issues.

Good question. AXA Thailand is a completely different company from AXA Thailand I have been told by an insurance broker. I applied for AXA Thailand via their Pattaya office and was denied coverage due to a pre-existing condition (a small scar on by lower lung which I got from vaping some years ago, i believe). AXA Thailand declined my application just because of this pre-existing condition. I was accepted by Pacific Cross with this condition, but have heard they are not good for covering claims. So, I decided not to sign up with Pacific Cross. AXA Global will most likely not outright deny my application because of the aforementioned pre-existing condition. I do have a stand alone accident insurance plan (which covers motorbike accidents) with AXA - Thailand.

Just for clarification: The AXA Global Plan is just for Thailand. But it is still AXA Global and not the AXA Thailand company.
