Disappointing .

I was going to use that 50 000 Baht to buy a flight ticket .

So, you are withdrawing the bet offer .

OK, you have backed out from the bet .

Lets leave it at that

For the 3 rd Time .

I accept that bet .

I suggest a wager of 50 000 Baht .

And you withdraw from "Let`s leave it like that."

You really need that money, don`t you.

Should we start a "Go fund me" for you?

Jeff challenged Nick to meet physically to discuss the Gaza situation.

I tried to raise money for charity by wagering Nick he wouldn’t turn up. A week later Nick admitted he wasn’t in the country for the meeting and wanted the wager paid to his PayPal or GFM account, when questioned he admitted by “charity” he meant his airline ticket.

Jeff and I have a different definition of charity.

Stop lying @JBChiangRai , charity was never mentioned in the initial dialogue , you only bought charity into it at a later date as a get out clause

Four members of a Palestinian family, including two children, were killed when Israeli troops opened fire on their vehicle in the north of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Sunday.

The ministry said the victims included the 37-year-old father, his 35-year-old wife and two children aged five and seven. Two other children were injured, it added. Several members of the family had suffered head wounds, the ministry reported.

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation, the police statement said. Palestinian media reported that the father had no known links to militant organizations.

Boy, 12, tells of family shot dead in West Bank car

israel murder.jpg

Ali Khaled Bani Odeh, his wife Waad, and their sons Mohammed and Othman were buried on Sunday

A 12-year-old boy has described the terrifying moment Israeli forces opened fire on his family’s car in the occupied West Bank, killing his parents and two young brothers in seconds.

Khaled Bani Odeh says he believed he was the only survivor as gunfire ripped through the windscreen while the family drove home from a shopping trip.

“My mother cried out one last time before going quiet,” the boy recalled. “My father recited the Shahada as he died.”

The shooting happened just after midnight on Saturday near the village of Tammun, close to Tubas.

Khaled’s father, 37-year-old Ali Khaled Bani Odeh, his 35-year-old mother Waad, and two of his younger brothers were killed in the attack.

Among them was seven-year-old Othman, who was blind and disabled and had been sitting on his mother’s lap when the bullets struck.

Moments earlier the family had been returning from dinner and shopping in Nablus, preparing for the upcoming Eid al‑Fitr. Relatives said Ali had only recently returned home after spending six weeks working at a construction site in Israel. His sons had begged him to take them shopping before the holiday celebrations. But the trip ended in tragedy as they approached their home village.

Khaled said that after the shooting stopped, Israeli forces tried to pull his surviving brother Mustafa from the car. When Khaled tried to intervene, he said soldiers dragged him out instead.

“They pulled me out and began jumping on my back,” he said. “Then they questioned me about who had been in the car.”

He says he told them it was his parents. According to Khaled, soldiers accused him of lying and beat him.

Israeli authorities offered a very different account of what happened.

The Israeli army said its soldiers and Border Police had been conducting an operation in Tammun to arrest people suspected of terrorist activity against Israeli security forces.

According to the military statement, the family car “accelerated towards the forces, who sensed danger and responded by shooting”.

But a nearby resident who witnessed the incident told reporters the car had stopped before any shots were fired. The witness said the vehicle had just turned into his street and come to a halt.

He said he heard no warning calls or warning shots.

“The firing directly targeted the car,” he said. “I just heard the woman screaming and the children crying.”

Another report cited by the The New York Times said Waad had asked her husband to pull over so she could search her bag moments before the shooting.

The Israeli army says the incident is now under investigation by the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, grief has engulfed the family’s home.

Khaled’s grandmother, Najah Bani Odeh, sat surrounded by mourners as the surviving eight-year-old Mustafa stood beside her with a bandage across his face.

She said the injury was caused by shrapnel and broken glass when the car windows shattered during the gunfire. “He needs an operation to remove it,” she said.

Hassan Fuqoha of the Palestinian Red Crescent said the scene shocked even experienced emergency crews.

He said the victims had suffered devastating injuries and described the shooting as unusually intense.

“I saw a lot of bullet casings everywhere around the car,” he said. “It was very heavy fire.”

Residents said they recovered more than 50 assault-rifle bullet casings near the vehicle and handed them to authorities.

Political reaction has also begun to mount.

Yair Lapid, head of the Yesh Atid, criticised the government for failing to apologise to the family.

“A seven-year-old boy with special needs should not die in the wars of adults,” he said.

The deaths have renewed scrutiny of how Israeli soldiers respond to perceived threats in the West Bank.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, violence in the territory has surged since the 7 October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel.

The UN agency says 1,071 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank between October 2023 and 15 March 2026, including at least 233 children.

During the same period, 19 Israeli civilians and 23 Israeli security personnel were killed there.

‘We killed dogs’: Israeli troops kill two children, parents in West Bank

Each person shot in the head in the village of Tammun, while two other children of the deceased couple sustain injuries.

An unfortunate event.

Even more unfortunate is the faux outrage from the usual cadre who wish to use the event as a platform for their anti Israel, jew baiiting. None of these people has been in a combat zone where "civilians" are active threats. In Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Haiti et al, the UN mandated security personnel and OAU peacekeepers do similar. They don't merit individual threads at Thaiger. Today Pakistan. bombed a rehabilitation facility in Afghanistan, killing and maiming. Not a word of concern from the cadre.

You don't even know the full circumstances particularly if the vehicle was indeed speeding toward the IDF position. Never mind, just carry on condemning.

70,000 civilians killed in Gaza, many of them women and children. Palestinians killed almost every day in the West Bank by settlers and the IDF.

It's very easy to condemn the Israeli forces and the settlers, just look at the statistics.

Yes, there are atrocities in many places in the world, but this forum is about Israel and the Palestinians.

No, 70,000 civilians were not killed. Tens of thousands of militants from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other allied groups, including combat personnel, security personnel, command and control personnel, logistical personnel and members of their families died during a conflict that they initiated.

Yes, Asean Now gladly hosts a small group of people who despise Israel, its citizens, its friends and supporters and jews. This group is quite prolific in its activity. However, they do not represent the vast majority of readers who do just not care about the Gaza conflict or the ongoing issues that attach to Israel.

Ok, if you do not agree that it was an unfortunate event, then it is a fortunate event for you. Perhaps that is so because it offers an opportunity for you to let loose your crocodile tears and to stomp your feet in feigned concern. Now the deceased can be martyrs, which is the ultimate career path as per the Hamas and Islamic jihad beliefs. I would prefer that the bloodshed would stop.

Nearly 70% of Gaza war dead verified by UN are women and children.

The UN agency said it verified the details of 8,119 people killed in Gaza from November 2023 to April 2024.

Its analysis found around 44% of verified victims were children and 26% women. The ages most represented among the dead were five to nine-year-olds.

About 80% of victims were killed in residential buildings or similar housing, the agency added.

The report said the data indicates "an apparent indifference to the death of civilians and the impact of the means and methods of warfare".

Judging by the number of demonstrations in the Western world over the last year, it appears a lot of people are disgusted by the Israeli government.

That doesn't mean everyone, including people here, hate all Israeli people or jews worldwide.

To despise the Israeli government and its murderous policies is not a sign of antisemitism, it's a sign of revulsion at barbaric violence against innocent people.

Total nonsense. People hate Israel for obvious reasons, the world over, and to some extent Israeli society. No one hates Jews purely as they're Jewish, certainly not a group of members. You've become quite obsessed with this, trying to defend Israel.

You're paranoid.

Our Pro Israel group of diminishing members think they can criticise the likes of Hamas but others can't criticise Israel, they're brainwashed to think they are a superior race.
