Some scholars, such as Maxime Rodinson, coined "Islamofascism" to describe the merging of traditional Islamic values with modern, totalitarian state structures in Iran.

Islamic fascists hate Jews like Hitler did. Iran has a Supreme Leader like Hitler. Hitler was friends with muslims.

The Iranian regime is characterized by totalitarian, religious ideology, mass arrests of dissenters, and violent crackdowns on protests.

Very very similar.

They are Islamic fascist, for sure.

However, a key difference with Hitler is that they don't persecute their own Jewish citizen!

Actually, it was worse under the Tory government. 😆

I wasn't born in 1939. Neville Chamberlain was though!

If you're blaming someone for 1939 timing or policy, look at your own British leader back then, not me/us.

"We have been badly led by weak leaders who don't believe in Britain, who don't believe in the British people, who are gutless and filled with cowardice."

Unless the US can do away with every drone and missile, Iran can keep control of the Straits of Hormuz. Iran can hit the shipping lanes from as far away as half their country. How many tankers would Iran have to sink to close the Straits?

Here are some statistics.

Each lane going in and out is only 3.5km wide.

The Strait of Hormuz has varying depths, generally measuring between 200 and 330 feet (60 to 100 meters) throughout much of its width, with certain parts reaching over 650 feet.

Large oil tankers, specifically Super Tankers or Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC), generally stand between 70 and 80 meters high (roughly 230 to 260+ feet),

A fully loaded, large tanker ship (such as a

Very Large Crude Carrier - VLCC) generally has a draft—the depth from the waterline to the bottom of the keel—of approximately 20 to 25 meters (65 to 82 feet).

He wasn't appeasing he was buying time for rearnament so Bengal-famine monster Churchill could come and take all the glory. My dad (RIP DAD) ex army saw him off in the 1945 election as did most of his comrades for full blooded socialism.

Im sure when you asked Churchill how long WW2 would be he said two weeks.

Wow! You almost nailed it. Just kidding

"On May 10, 1940, Winston Churchill became Prime Minister. When he met his Cabinet on May 13 he told them that “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.” He repeated that phrase later in the day when he asked the House of Commons for a vote of confidence in his new all-party government. The response of Labour was heart-warming; the Conservative reaction was lukewarm. They still really wanted Neville Chamberlain. For the first time, the people had hope but Churchill commented to General Ismay: “Poor people, poor people. They trust me, and I can give them nothing but disaster for quite a long time.”

More likely is the other countries stay the course and negotiate passage directly with each country. Included in these negations is Iran's terms for the ceasefire.

How much is the reparations funds is going to be is real question.

Well, this thread didn't age too well, if I may state the obvious.

Here's the stable genius himself:

Zelenskyy, please show us how to shoot down Shehed drones!

I lit the Strait on fire, halting your oil shipments, so please come and help clean up my mess!

South Korea, we're going to be needing those Patriots and THAADs, so good luck with that little guy who HAS nukes and much better missiles!

I made the price of oil skyrocket, so please open your petroleum reserves so the US stock market won't keep tanking!

Our National Debt is skyrocketing, so don't forget to put in your bids for USTs at the next auction....besides rates are rising so you get a better deal!

And finally....Gerard Butler...can you show me how you and your Spartans held off Xerxes!

The US doesn't need help so much that now Trump is NATO countries with dire consequences if they don't send warships to patrol the Straits of Hormuz. And he's threatening to call off his summit meeting with China, too, if they don't contribute to the effort

Trump warns Nato faces 'very bad' future if allies do not help secure Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump says it would be "very bad for the future of Nato" if allies don't help secure the Strait of Hormuz - a critical waterway for global oil shipping

In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump says he expects China to help unblock the strait and could delay a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping if it doesn't

Aboard Air Force One, Trump also says he is speaking to "about seven" countries about "policing" the strait, adding that he "will remember" if they do not help

Where have we heard this before?

Egypt Iran blocks the Suez Canal Strait of Hormuz. Israel convinces the UK US to join them in an attack, which the US UK refuses to join. Things go badly for the attackers.
