I'm movin to Phuket for a long stay in Oct, and would like to be able to interact with my client using Microsoft SharedView.

But reading through this forum i'm concerned about the obvious lack of internet speed,

so I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me with a demo using this free software,

it only takes a couple of minutes to install and you can use a windows live(hotmail) account to login.

Ideally it would be someone in Phuket town using the CDMA EV-DO wireless aircard. Strange request I know but it would really

help me out, I'd even be willing to pay some dough, and I'd only need to see it running for 5/10 minutes to get an idea of the

speed.

In case anyones suspicious its not using remote access just screen sharing, I'm not some russian hacker lookin to steal yer cookes :o

cheers,

GT

You will have problems. Evdo cuts off every 2 or 3 minutes. Speed noted is 900k but in reality it is about 100-200k.

Depending on what part of the island you are on, the issues noted above vary widely.

And a 1mb TOT or Maxnet line will be shared with 10-20 others.

Cheers for the Reply FB, its those doom and gloom stats that worry me.

My mate has a 1mb connection in Ho chi Minh, Vietnam,

i ran a test with him which was pretty usuable, and I imagined the

internet infrastructure in 'nam to be roughly the same as Thailand.

Maybe there is someone on the forum that has been tryin out screensharing from within

Thailand? anyone?

I know its not something that alot of folk use at the moment, so how about I just make

a straight offer, 1000bht for approx. 30 mins of your time, as long as you are in Phuket Town

with one of the standard broadband connections, preferably EDVO.
