Did a search and couldn't find any relevant answers, so

Getting up there in years and my health isn't that good.

So, I have money in 3 thai bank accounts. All in my name only.

One for immigration that has to remain in my name only. Or, if I know the end is near, and I won't be doing anymore extensions,,,cash out that account.

I am married to a Thai woman..but, what will happen to the money in the bank.

I told my wife to transfer all the money out of immigration account to BKK bank that has an ATM card. withdraw the maximum amount untile 0 balance,,,And, or transfer money online to her bank.

She thinks that if I pass in Thailand, that the banks will be notified and she won't be able to access my money in my bank account.

Sounds like BS to me, but doesn't anyone have any knowledge on this matter?

Thanks,

She is not allowed to touch any money in your name before the legal process is done.

Make a thai will, and secure her rights, not so hard

Make a will, also list any investments in other countries, pensions, list what she has to do to access, set this up in advance.

A friend told me of someone he knew in 80s, decided to end it but before he did set up a lever arch folder of all the info his wife would need, good man

MOVED to the correct forum.

How would the legal process be drastically different/longer if there's a Thai will as opposed to a Thai wife and child as only heirs with no will?

Thats what have to be proved first, if there is others who have rights, and do you think the foreign embassy is handing those out on requests just like that? It is a long process, can take a year or even years especially if someone makes a legal claim. So a thai and english or any language will must be made if you want your wife or gf to heritage your values after your death easily.
