Trump Faces ‘No Kings’ Protests Across United States

Large demonstrations against Donald Trump took place across the United States on Saturday as part of the latest “No Kings” protests, with organisers criticising the president’s policies on immigration, the war in Iran and the cost of living.

Events were held in nearly every major American city, including New York City, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. Demonstrators marched through central districts and gathered at prominent landmarks.

Nationwide rallies target Trump policies

In Washington, crowds filled the National Mall and assembled on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Protesters carried signs accusing the administration of undermining democratic institutions.

Organisers said the rallies aimed to challenge what they describe as authoritarian tendencies in the White House. In a statement, they said power in the United States “belongs to the people, not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies”.

A White House spokesperson dismissed the events as “Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions” and suggested only journalists were paying attention to the protests.

Demonstrations spread across cities and towns

Large crowds gathered in major metropolitan areas while smaller communities also saw turnout. Demonstrations were reported in cities including Boston, Nashville and Houston, alongside smaller towns such as Shelbyville and Howell.

In New York City, thousands gathered in Times Square before marching through Manhattan’s Midtown district. Police temporarily closed several streets to manage the crowds.

Participants held banners opposing the war in Iran and the activities of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Effigies of Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other administration figures appeared at some rallies.

Several states deployed National Guard units as a precaution, although organisers said the demonstrations were intended to remain peaceful.

Minnesota rally highlights immigration deaths

One of the most prominent events took place in St. Paul, where thousands gathered outside the state capitol.

The protest referenced the deaths of two US citizens, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed by federal immigration agents in January. Their deaths prompted earlier nationwide demonstrations over immigration enforcement tactics.

Several prominent Democratic politicians addressed the crowd, and musician Bruce Springsteen performed his song “Streets of Minneapolis”, which criticises immigration enforcement policies.

The previous No Kings protests in October drew an estimated seven million participants across the United States, according to organisers.

Debate over presidential power

Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Trump has used executive orders to dismantle parts of the federal government and deployed National Guard troops to US cities despite objections from some state governors.

The president has also urged federal prosecutors to pursue legal cases against individuals he regards as political opponents.

Trump says his actions are necessary to restore stability in a country he describes as being in crisis. In an interview with Fox News last year, he rejected accusations of authoritarian behaviour, saying: “They’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king.”

Critics argue some of the administration’s actions threaten democratic institutions and could violate the US constitution.

Demonstrations were also reported outside the United States. American expatriates gathered in cities including Paris, London and Lisbon, calling for Trump’s impeachment and removal from office.

paid protestors by NGO's that fraud - vote buying , fake daycares, fake health services, fake homeless help, on a large scale as proven by nick shirley and others while CNN, MSM , even the DOJ are sleeping

The thread title is a bit misleading in my view trump didn’t (face)any thing he hid from it at his golf course and trolled….its what he does….his problem is less and less folks are being suckered…..that’s not good news for the felon.

If some of the US Government's actions get deemed illegal or unconstitutional, might that trigger some of the biggest class action lawsuits the world has ever seen? From any one farmer in a relatively poor country losing out through tariffs through to the rebuilding costs in Iran, and all points in between?

You yanks elected in a madman dictator !! try and get rid of him. not going to happen !! bloody fools!!!

I don't know what the heck these people expect. Trump can't get Congress to do anything, and the Democrats hold every issue at bay and won't pass any legislation. It's their way or no way, and Trump is not going to put up with all that crap. He's doing the best he can with the tools he's got.

“These people are crazy, I'm telling ya, they're crazy.” Nothing much more to say about it.

Congress is co-equal branch of the government and have equal status with the executive and judiciary. Congress is not subordinate to Trump. He will do well to uphold the constitution's separation of power. He is NO KIng and that is what the people expect of him.

Trump gets all he wants out of Congress, the Republican side. They refuse to do anything to rein in his unconstitutional actions and with a right wing majority in the now un supreme court and their shadow docket he gets away with just about anything. Still hasn't tried shooting somebody in Time Square, but certainly has gotten away with killing school children in an illegal war in Iran the the US is losing. He is following the "2025 agenda" right down the line to destroy democracy and Congress, the republican part, lets him get away with it. Trump is an illiterate wanna be dictator and has certainly done a good job of destroying democracy with the help of cowards that yield. He is doing all he can to destroy voting by Democrats before the midterms where if free elections are allowed the Republican cowards and traitors will be thrown out of office. As 8 million people have just shown, he is not a king and never will be.

Semper Fi.

Hmm. I’ve been to a couple of No Kings protests, and nobody ever paid me, or any of the other people I know who have attended. Maybe I’m just stupid.

Nick Shirley? Really? Teenage shock jock who’s now learned how to monetize his antics? Say, have you shelled out $50 for one of his sweatshirts at his Shirley Defense website? Better hurry before they sell out!

More than that, are you OK? You seem to be all tangled up in conspiracy theories. Maybe take a few days off from those blogs run by fat guys in their thirties living in their mothers’ basements ...

I love how the Democrats blocked funding, causing TSA workers to not get paid. I'm proud that the Democrats are standing up for the common man.

8 million people in a dozen countries, 2.3% of Americans. Put that on your plate.

Seriously dude, have you paid attention to other presidents?

Not true. The Democrats want significant reform of ICE before agreeing on funding. They want to see reforms including requiring judicial warrants, banning agents from wearing masks, ending racial profiling, and restricting enforcement in sensitive areas like schools. Reasonable demands that the GOP refused and as a result they caused the funding problem.

The animal Trump is just doing what it has done all its life, just runs amok and does not give a toss whom it hurts on the way. All m e me me.

Nonsense trump controls both chambers and if they don’t tow the line he ruins their lives.there are good strong valid reasons people are trying to stop him.

An elected dictator is an authoritarian leader who gains or maintains power through nominally democratic elections but rules with absolute authority, often by subverting democratic institutions like the judiciary and media

. These regimes, also known as electoral autocracies or elective dictatorships,, use democratic processes to legitimize their rule, often manipulating elections or using overwhelming popular support to justify eroding civil liberties.

Trump to a TEE !!

It seems like Trump wants to be in same listing as other "civilized leaders of the world"

Putin, Assad, Khomeinie, Kim, XI ping, Marcos, Duterte and so on, all just killers and dictators.

They are playing around with human's lives, only for their own ego.

It is a sad situation globally, all weirdo's .

In the past lot of such people were eliminated, as in kings, sjahs and emperors.

Sadly it has led to nothing as many other a****s came forward.

As an American, I can tell you we can be a jaded bunch. Been there, done that, too cool for school. To see so many, in so many cities, get off their La-Z-Boys and go march in the streets was, indeed, heartening. Feeling hopeful about the mid-terms.

I just hope that Americans voting in the mid terms, change the political situation completely

in the USA. If not well America, you have the vote, use it wisely.

If I ever feel like I'm failing at life, I just need to look at the No Kings protesters to feel better about myself.

The concept of an "elected dictator" in America refers to intense political debate surrounding Donald Trump's presidency and campaign promises, with critics warning of authoritarian tendencies and supporters highlighting his populist mandate. Concerns focus on potential abuse of power, challenging institutional checks, and remarks about acting as a dictator on "day one"

Key Aspects of the "Elected Dictator" Debate:

  • Trump's Statements: Donald Trump has remarked that he would be a dictator only on "day one" if re-elected, a comment that raised concerns about his approach to executive power, while also denying being a dictator.

  • Concerns Over Autocracy: Reports from organizations like NPR suggest a rapid decline in democratic norms, with warnings that a second term could lead to a "homegrown," or American-style, dictatorship.

  • Institutional Checks: Some argue that, despite efforts to challenge democratic institutions, the U.S. system of checks and balances—including courts and Congress—still functions, though others argue these institutions are being undermined.

  • Political Context: Critics often compare Trump's style to populist, authoritarian leaders, focusing on actions like attacking political opponents and threatening the separation of powers, as outlined by Scientific American

I'm proud of the people in the UK who protested Trump at their No Kings Rally.

It was a global event that wre held in France, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, Sweden and Netherland. South Korea and Japan had their "No Kings Just democracy " rallies. This is unprecedented that a US President is so disliked all over the world.

Everyone hates the guy. Thousands of Americans who voted for him, now say he sucks.

Just a few, like here on the Forum, MAGA brainwashed, still think his poop smells like roses.

Hey, Donald is much more than a king.........

Outrage as Trump's faith advisor compares him to Jesus during Easter event

trump paula.jpg

Political analysts and observers were outraged on Wednesday after a video of President Donald Trump's faith advisor comparing him to Jesus.

Trump hosted an Easter event at the White House with evangelical groups. The event was supposed to be private, but Trump's speech was posted on the White House's YouTube channel until it was made private later in the day.

At one point, Trump's faith advisor, Paula White-Cain, compared Trump to Jesus because the two men had been "betrayed and arrested and falsely accused."

"It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Saviour showed us," she said.
