You get to speak your mind as long as you praise Trump. If you criticize him, then it is a different story.

the USA is the best, and we run the West. Carry on, I pay for the planes flying over you keeping the boogeymen away.

The west turn his back to Trump, so the US (definitely not WE) doesn't run anything other than their own country into the ground.

And you want to claim you pay for the planes, while having the need to live in Third World countries? That was a good laugh, I doubt you pay any significant amount of taxes in the US. More likely that you are living on social benefits. Socialist when it suits you, extreme right on the other days

There are still people that think Trump is playing 5D chess. In reality, what's he playing is more like a fake reality tv show without a script. He's having fun, he and his cronies are making billions

One man started the U.S. war against Iran. It's well documented that the military warned him against it.

What if you removed cars from roads? The death rate would then fall as often it is cars hitting bike riders. Introduce skytrains into every city with carriages for bikes. Also build buses with storage for bikes.

What if we made every leader who started a war fight in the front lines? That would reduce the death rate too, and is just as achievable as your proposition.

I think you have "Russia" in mind. But it can't be as "Russia" has been "destroyed" single handed by Donald already. Any other enemies that Donald has "destroyed" recently?

In the olden days, the armored "knights" were at the front (honour etc etc) , Modern day warefare: The instigators of any sort of warfare sit in bunkers, far away from any "action".

It works perfectly well as there is never a shortage of "soldiers" that believe that as long as the "government" insists that a war is "inevitable", they are willing to serve as "cannon fodder".

In the name of the country, or (if that doesn't help), in the name of "God".

7000 years of recorded history: Nothing learned. Sadly.

I have no problem with the concept of us withdrawing from Nato and removing all troops and airbases. We have Israel and the Gulf, reliable allies, plus Turkey for bases or even Azerbaijan. Grab Greenland and we have enough ability to project power. You guys can handle Russia, right?

Problem solved.

You are missing the point. Iran is using $30,000 drones to exhaust a limited supply of million-dollar Patriot and THAAD interceptors. It also takes far less time to build one of those drones.

Already, there are rumors American inventories are critically low. Perhaps that's why Hegseth wants to go over budget by $200 billion.

Part of the supplemental funding request is placing the orders to replenish stocks. Defence contracts can be complex. The military will have stock. In peacetime, there is rotation of stock back to the manufacturers, to ensure nothing is time expired. A typical contract might include a commitment by the manufacturer to maintain a call off inventory sufficient for various scenarios. This can jack up the cost of the things being delivered.

Most of the supplemental cost request is just the daily cost of running a military at an increased state of readiness; more food, more fuel, more maintenance, more training.

In other words: You think that Israel, the Gulf, Turkey and Aserbaijan plus the annection of Greenland will improve the financial situation of a farmer in Nebraska and raise the wages of a McDonald empoyee in New York City ??

Outside of Israel, the above mentined countries play no role concerning "international affairs". Problem solved.

Would be funny so long as patriots could display a baby Ayesha or Mohammed. You know, a level playing field. Or do the left not know what a level playing field is any more?😅

Obviously. We will probably even be able to withdraw from the Gulf in part.

Yeah but Israel is worth more than NATO and its good to have a powerful democratic ally

Lets try a little honesty test, shall we?

Who knows what he is doing the most, the lefts top boy - the senile Biden, or Mr 2 times POTUS, able to riff on stage for hours Donald Trump.

And Russia too right? You guys been (falsely & without evidence) claiming Putin and Trump are besties for about a decade now. Que pasa?

The gulf states are no allies, because the US pays for their defence, as they don't have one of their own.

Israel owns the US, so actually the US is an ally of Israel, and not the other way around, and since Israel soon will stop to exist, what is the benefit of that?

Japan. South Korea. Taiwan. Australia. The Gulf States. Pakistan. India. That pretty much takes care of the important places. Probably Switzerland two because we have owned them for years.

I wouldnt doubt that when we pull out, Europe will fall apart

MAGA back home that's what Trump/isarel are spaffing up the wall. Don't forget that come the mid terms.

Reality check -the Gulf States are furious, The US has wrecked both their income stream and their tourism industry.

While you are doing that, would you mind withdrawing from Pine Gap, Northwest Cape, and Darwin?

Here's the math: We do four times as much trade with China as we do with the USA. Without BS tariffs.

We are spending $370 billion on secondhand nuclear submarines we may never get a decade down the track. By then, drone technology may have made them expensive junk.

We have made ourselves a nuclear target for you. In return, your president is lambasting us for not assisting him in his most egregious miscalculation.

Enough is enough. You are not worth p!ssing on as an ally, and I am far from the only Australian that thinks you are expensive baggage.

That's changing. In China, which is far in the lead when it comes to electric vehicles of all types:

Conversely, in China, the price distribution of available BEV models closely resembles that of ICEVs, with about 40% of available electric models priced below USD 25 000 (against 45% for ICEV models), and more than half below USD 30 000. In 2024, this price distribution was reflected in sales, with the median price paid for a battery electric car standing at around USD 24 000, about USD 700 less than for an ICE car. This trend towards a larger share of more affordable models is expected to continue in the short term, as 60% of announced models with a known price are expected to launch below the USD 30 000 mark.

https://www.iea.org/reports/global-ev-outlook-2025/trends-in-electric-car-affordability

As for charging, it's hard to fill up your car with gasoline at home. But you can easily charge your EV at home.

What's more charging times are getting a lot faster

"When you pair these chargers with BYD's new cars, the results are impressive. Vehicles like the Denza Z9 GT and the Yangwang U7 have the second-generation Blade Battery. On a Flash Charging pile, these electric cars can go from 10% to 70% battery in just 5 minutes. Even a nearly full charge from 10% to 97% only takes about 9 minutes under normal conditions.

Cold weather usually makes electric cars charge much slower, but BYD claims it has fixed that problem. They tested the new battery system in extreme cold. After sitting in -30°C weather for an entire day, the battery could still charge from 20% to 97% in only 12 minutes. This is a big deal for drivers in places like Northern Europe or North America, where winter usually makes EV charging a chore."

Surely this should be in the ads section?

Any idea when these will be available for homes ? Currently the tech is not suitable for home installation.

Level 3-dc

I don't see why they would ever be available for homes. They are made to charged by superpowerful flash chargers that provide 1 to 1.5 MW.

This is the same country that started a 20 year war.

As General Wesley Clark told us from his Pentagon insider - right after 9/11 the US Defense Department and Pentagon were preparing for regime change in all countries that threatened Israel - 7 countries in 5 years - with Iran being the last (as it would be toughest nut to crack). Obviously it's take more than 5 years, but they press ahead regardless on behalf of Israel and the deaths of thousands of US Servicemen and women - and millions of civilans. None of these countries posed a threat to the United States. The 'international terrorism' is a direct result of this plan.
