In life here on Planet Earth,, most people make their judgements about reliability based on past performance. God knows what your criteria are.

You have a lot of personal history with leakers? What nonsense. Sources like the Wall St. Journal have a long and excellent history of reliability. Without that, why would anyone subscribe to it. It's in their interest that their reports don't turn out to be false. That their sources are reliable.

What does the reliability of the WSJ have to do with it?

I hear/see all kind of "leaked" stuff that turns out to be BS, but apparently you have not. Every leak you hear/see turns out to be fact.

Who knows what it is you see and where it's coming from? It's the reliability of the news source that counts.

I think the motive and reliability of the leaker is more important than the regurgitator.

And you think that the experienced reporters of the Wall St. Journal can't figure out whom to trust? That their leakers don't have track records with them? Give it up already?

I wonder why those MAGA's still want to argue, since it has become public news since, announced by Trump himself

The traditional news media, which includes Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Washington Post, do not post a story from only one source. They get confirmation from several sources, and if they cannot get confirmation, they do not publish the story. Sometimes that means that they miss real stories, like the Hunter Biden laptop. On the upside they avoid publishing things like the Steele Dossier before more facts are known.

It is funny to see that the people dismissing the "mainstream media", that actually do solid journalistic work, have no problem trusting medias that is only too happy to run with stories from one source only - or from gossip.

I will try again,

You state above that you do not accept the WSJ and previously have stated your dislike of MSM.

Can you provide a short list of an "example" of the sources you do read and trust!

Please do not come back with your usual response that you are "NOT allowed to" post such info!

@KhunLA

I am still waiting for a sensible answer!

Thats everyones experience. Only in the bizarre world of the anti American universe are the political bonafides of the story the true test of a leakers probity.

According to Trump the Missile that hit a School could not have been an American Missile he bragged and true to word you MAGAS immediatly backed him without any evidence. God spoke you believed it. We now know it was a Yank Tomahawk missile fired from a US Navy destroyer. Has trump Acknowledge it now and his fanclub ? no not even a sorry, so why should we believe or trust this man. As for his lackeys on here if Donald told them the Earth was flat they would believe him. Thats why you can't engage with them on here anymore.

You have never given an answer that states what your alternative sources to MSM are. Why do all you MSM deniers NEVER state what actual sources you use? All you ever answer with is a load of BS about getting banned if you did do so. What are you frightened of?

Of course, it's a ridiculous excuse. Linking to such sources would get the post eliminated and maybe after repeated offenses might get someone suspended, but just mentioning the names of sources? Obviously, this is a dodge.

You mean the same WSJ that is owned by the same guy that owns Fox?

I think they run with anything that sells copy.

The Wall Street Journal's target audience is a lot different from Fox. What's more, I don't think Fox News lies or even gets the facts wrong much in its news. What it does do is not report on news that's unfavorable to the right or simply post it somewhere obscure.

You've just explained why it was Fox, and not WaPo or CNN or the NYT or MSNBC that was sued for ~$600 million by a maker of voting machines.

On the negative side, REAL News can write 10,000 articles about the terrorists who attacked the US Capitol on 6 January 2021, in addition to followup articles of all of the convicted terrorists who have subsequently committed heinous crimes like child molestation....yet the fascist DoJ is actually considering compensating the convicted/pardoned for "mental anguish".

Imagine: threaten to hang the sitting Vice President of the United States, and get paid for it by the US Taxpayer.....and kiddie diddle why waiting for your fat check. That's got to be MAGA Paradise.

I should have made clear that I was commenting on Fox News written reporting. Not what their commentators claimed. I very rarely watch videos to get the news. I know that there are progressive commentators such as Paul Krugman or Greg Sargent actually provide written transcripts of their commentary and interviews. Maybe there are right wing commentators who do that as well. The ones that get recommended by members of aseannow don't. At least not the ones I've checked.

Trump just gave us a new dance: The Taco Two-Step.

First you have to de-taco before you re-taco.

The market spent two days anticipating the Full TACO, the All-You-Can Eat Taco Buffet, but in his speech Trump said he still had some big explosions to carry out. Guy's gotta still pretend he's an Alpha Male. Oil jumped 5% in 20 seconds. Stock futures got slammed.

Now watch over the next few days. If the stock futures suddenly soar for no reason, and oil tumbles at the same time, watch for a TACO Tweet.

It was Rahm Emmanuel who said,"Never let a crisis go to waste", but Trump and his team of insider traders have taken that to a whole new level. Never let a crisis end when there's still a chance to cash in bigly.

You remember? It's seems you're still allergic to linking to actual evidence. Laugable.

And your allegation about journalists is par for the course.

And what makes it even more laughable is the number of stories published by the NY Times, for one, that hurt democrats. It was Jeff Gerth of the NY Times who broke the Whitewater story which depended on leaks from unnamed sources.. Just one of many.

But what really makes your allegations ridiculous is that you prefer to trust the government's official version because apparently you believe that government will willingly reveal information that makes them look bad. That there is no need for leaks because the government is basically honest. Your stance is ridiculous.

So many stories that hurt the Democrats in the Times that you have to go back 35 years to find one.

I chose that one because it was the most dramatic leading to the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

Here's a more recent one. The Tmes got it from an intermediary who was in possession of hacked documents from Columbia University

Mamdani Identified as Asian and African American on College Application

As he runs for mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani has made his identity as a Muslim immigrant of South Asian descent a key part of his appeal.

But as a high school senior in 2009, Mr. Mamdani, the Democratic nominee, claimed another label when he applied to Columbia University. Asked to identify his race, he checked a box that he was “Asian” but also “Black or African American,” according to internal data derived from a hack of Columbia University that was shared with The New York Times.

Columbia, like many elite universities, used a race-conscious affirmative action admissions program at the time. Reporting that his race was Black or African American in addition to Asian could have given an advantage to Mr. Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and spent his earliest years there.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/03/nyregion/mamdani-columbia-black-application.html

What he says and then often what he does are obviously not in alignment. He definitely has a strange relationship with the truth.

I'm guessing he will try to scare Iran for the next week or so and if Iran doesn't concede to his wishes at the moment, he will unleash the forces America has with much less constraint. This will be terrible in the short term for Iranians and will set them back at least a few years. He will then claim victory and leave. The left will claim utter failure and I personally will wait and see what happens over the coming year. In the end I'm betting on failure but have hope.

As a NY Times Pentagon reporter put it: Nothing in the speech that was not already on Truth Social.

Of course, because TACO sees no one in the U.S. agrees with this sh*t. Worst president in the history of the U.S. All you MAGA imbeciles keep smokin that Trump pole, you dumba***ses.

https://finance.yahoo.com/economy/policy/article/trump-declares-other-countries-need-to-take-the-lead-on-the-strait-of-hormuz-in-national-address-161325048.html

President Trump declared Wednesday night that other countries should “take the lead” on the Strait of Hormuz in yet another signal that the US may aim to depart Iran with that economically vital issue unresolved.

The latest message on the crucial waterway came during Trump’s address to the nation from the White House that was billed as “an important update on Iran.” The president reiterated plans to leave Iran in two to three weeks but offered little sense of how he will end the war.

“We will be helpful, but they should take the lead,” Trump said of reopening the strait, and added that other nations “must take care of that passage, they must cherish it, they must grab it,” claiming that it can be done easily.

He also said the crucial 21-mile-wide waterway, through which one-fifth of the world's oil passes, may also “open up naturally.”

If it is so easy, then why he can't sort out easily the problem he created

What about the three and a half years of Biden being non compos mentis? They ran cover for him.

Mamdani's people certainly weren't happy about that leak.

But what's really entertaining is your second comment. You're the party who claims that leaks are inherently unreliable. Yet you damn the NY Times for not accessing them and reporting on them. It is to laugh.

And by the way, guess what media source it was who broke the big story on Biden's mental decline by using confidential sources that the Journal said were close to Biden?

Behind Closed Doors, Biden Shows Signs of Slipping

Participants in meetings said the 81-year-old president performed poorly at times. The White House said Biden is sharp and his critics are playing partisan politics.
