I think she is working, looking after the farm, and yourself. Doing stuff for her - helping her business and doing other stuff for her and the family - might increase self esteem and make it seem worthwhile - unless it's all too boring and past recovery.

Yes, life is comfortable, I'm being loved, looked after and cared for......but there is still a seriously strong yearning to get out there DO SOMETHING.

Well Phuket is a third the size of Greater London, it is not a tiny place like the tourist areas of Pattaya.

But if you chooses to hang around in the very small and low life areas of Phuket that is more of a reflection on you than Phuket.

But you must have decided to leave Phuket before you got very far as from the airport it is one hours drive to a tourist area and by car and over the bridge even longer, so no one believes your made up story.

How did you know it was Auzzies who were driving around on motorcycles with no helmets, were they all wearing hats with dangling corks and had portable barbecues on their handlebars?

The prices are reassuringly expensive here which keeps the riff-raff out of Phuket, they go to the cheapo areas of Pattaya where beer , tattoo parlours and ladyboys are almost free.
