Trump's Plan: Iran runs dry in 10-14 days

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

By his strategic chess move of blocking the Straight of Hormuz, President Trump is causing Iran to run out of gas and diesel in 10-14 days (they don't refine their own). In addition, they will have to shut down their oil pumps because they don't have enough storage, but oil wells perform poorly after doing this. There will be permanent long term damage to their oil production ability.

The Mullahs will be forced to surrender, negotiate, or be overthrown by their own people.

There will be short term pain for the rest of the world, but this move will create intense pressure on the brutal Iranian regime.

Oil production and infrastructure

Iran, the third-largest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, exports 90% of its crude via Kharg Island, for shipping through the narrow Strait of Hormuz.

From February 28 to March 11, Iran exported between 1.1 million barrels per day and 1.5 million bpd, according to TankerTracker.com and vessel tracking service Kpler.

Iran pumps about 4.5% of global oil supplies. Iran’s output is about 3.3 million barrels per day of crude, plus 1.3 million bpd of condensate and other liquids.

Iran’s domestic refineries have a capacity of 2.6 million bpd, according to the consultancy FGE.

In 2025, it exported nearly 820,000 bpd of fuel, including LPG, according to Kpler, slightly below 2024 levels.

World’s largest gas reserve

Iran produces natural gas from the offshore South Pars gas field, which makes up around a third of the world’s largest reservoir of natural gas.

Iran shares the reservoir with major exporter Qatar, which calls its field the North Dome.

Sanctions and technical constraints have meant most gas Tehran produces from South Pars is for domestic use.

Iran’s gas production totaled 276 billion cubic meters in 2024, with 94% consumed in Iran, according to data by the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

A "bridge day" or two can address whatever meager domestic production is happening. This regime is on its last legs.

If you are correct that is great news then. I wanted to ask why this nation has lasted 2600 years. My understanding is they have entirely different agenda to last might shed a light.

I think Susan was removed again 24 hours ago, will be back soon enough with a new username, and easily discovered from the insulting posts at high pace.

Let's play a wack the mole.

Fun fact Iranians pay 1 US cent per litre of fuel for the first 60 litres and then 3c thereafter. Making it essentailly free. Maybe Trump shiould try something similar on the home fromt.

You have not offered a rebuttal. Instead, you have dumped data that is no longer valid. The OP stated that Iran was not able to refine the oil to meet its national needs. You did not counter that claim. Yes, Iran was once a large producer of crude oil and gas. The conflict has caused it to reduce its production and export capacity. Iran does not use crude oil to power its automobiles or industry. One of the targets was iran's largest oil refineries in Lavan. It is not operating at its capacity and is shut down in large part due to damage. Other Iranian refineries have been degraded and refined oil storage facilities destroyed. Qatar is will have to reconsider its supply of refined products to Iran if the embargo holds.

Well I'm not at all optimistic but I wish him luck.

This war of choice should have never happened but as Trump did start it and got both the USA and most of the world in a big mess, of course between the USA and Iran's mullahs regime, I'm all for the USA even under the shambolic fascist Trump regime.

Illis, and it's not at all like the US, which did not stop its shipping through the strait in reaction to Iran's blocus! That would have been humiliating!

Oh wait! 😂

Per NY Times this AM:

Ninety percent of (Iran's oil) exports — more than 1.3 million barrels per day — were purchased by China before the American and Israeli attack began on Feb. 28.

Notice what he did in Venezuela. In retrospect, that was preparation for the Iranian conflict and closure of the Straight of Hormuz.

It will be interesting to see if this really happens. Trump is notorious for making empty promises. It is quite possible he will back out at a moment's notice because of some hallucination.

Trump is barely even capable of playing checkers, and it always gives me quite a laugh when his devotees talk about his advanced levels of the mastery of chess. He is the polar opposite of a strategic mind and he has a cub scout leader working for him as SEC DEF.

Trump is flailing badly, he's losing this war and it's becoming quite a humiliation for America. It's quite obvious that the US cannot reopen the Strait, nor are they capable of escorting ships through the Strait as originally promised.

Iran already won this war. Don has failed miserably and is causing a great deal of inflation in America, as well as a great deal of suffering around the world, but he doesn't seem to care one iota as the man is beyond blind.

Good by Don. Your reign of terror is nearly over and the destruction is nearly complete.

Trump is trying to work things out with as little bloodshed as possible. By his economic blockade, he is cutting off the paychecks of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It is up to them whether it will work, but he already tried diplomacy via the US Vice President, and it failed. Now he is cutting off their money to see if that works.

These are well-thought-out moves. I would even call it 5d Weiqi.

Have you ever tried stand-up comedy my guess is that you might actually be quite good at it. Sending that modesty squad to Pakistan was a mistake of huuuuge proportions, there wasn't a man amongst them that is regarded highly or respected by anyone.

Every aspect of this war so far has failed. Trump failed to protect the Striat, he failed to escort ships through the Strait, as promised, he failed to shut down Iran's nuclear program or get the nuclear material, he failed at regime change, and he ended up replacing a hardliner with another hardliner who is far more extreme. In addition he's created an extreme amount of economic chaos throughout the world by essentially stopping shipping through the Strait. That is not on Iran, that is on Don's tiny shoulders. Over 130 ships a day passed through there prior to this stupid war of choice.

The cost of gasoline is over 2.5 Euros a liter throughout Europe right now, and $6 a gallon in some places in America. Good job Don. Keep going, the worldwide economic destruction is nearly complete.

BREAKING NEWS: Following the strategic advice of Sun Tzu, Trump caused Iran to make a potentially fatal mistake.

During the initial bombing, the Iranian's lashed out in impotent fury and sent missiles to their neighbors. This is classic advice to agitate an enemy so they take actions that hurt themselves.

Now, in retaliation, those neighboring countries are opening their books so the US can track down and freeze Iranian money.

US Treasury Secretary and economic hitman Scott Bessent explained the new strategy here:

"What may prove to be FATAL mistakes the Iranians made was bombing their [Gulf] NEIGHBORS."

"Who are now willing to be much more transparent in terms of the funds, or do a deeper dive in investigating the funds that are held within their banking systems."

"So, we have pushed out to them the request that we want to freeze more funds of the leadership of the IRGC and any members of Iranian leadership."

"The other thing that we have done is we have told companies, we have told countries that if you are buying Iranian oil, that if Iranian money is sitting in your banks, we are now willing to apply secondary sanctions, which is a very stern measure."

"The Iranians should know that this is going to be the FINANCIAL equivalent of what we saw in the KINETIC activities."
