USA exports 5.5 million barrels and is a net exporter as of 2025.

Deceptive. The US is a net importer of crude oil, which is the common and most important metric.

@Jingthing

A couple of things are going on:
1. Trump isn't speaking to the general public. His messages are aimed at negotiators, or enemy leaders, or in response to a potential move by them. Ground circumstances constantly change which makes his public pronouncements seem contradictory.
2. He is conducting deliberate strategic unpredictability. As Sun Tzu taught us: "all warfare is based on deception"

The US is a net exporter of total petroleum. They refine a lot of oil and then export. .....https://usafacts.org/articles/is-the-us-a-bigger-oil-importer-or-exporter/......This is what they've been doing all along, and in 2025 they exported more crude. it fluctuates depending on the market. The US has the most demand of oil so it's logical they'll import what's needed to be refined and either exported or used internally. This explains............https://en.macromicro.me/charts/1254/usa-crude-oil-import-export

Also deceptive, missing the point. No surprise, the US has to be defended at all cost.

It is? It definitely is for you and I wonder why :) I do wonder if the nations buying the 5.5 million barrels a day would agree. Some people just make up what is important on the fly and depends on what their herd is pushing at the moment. I'm sure you are above this type of petty logic but just saying...

No, I made a point. Nothing wrong with a great country. Only certain people in all countries. Many are so prejudiced against the US for assumptions made, they make judgements based on that, instead of waiting for the facts. They'll listen to a podcast and believe it's gospel, all the while the truth is out there.

Thanks for the propagandized comedy relief. To paraphrase Samuel Clements, "The rumors of Iran's demise are greatly exaggerated."

‘I am certain’: Harvard policy expert warns the true cost of the Iran war to U.S. taxpayers will exceed $1 trillion

https://fortune.com/2026/04/15/how-much-will-iran-war-cost-taxpayers-us-1-trillion-dollars/

It will likely exceed that figure but Trump just doesn't care, he added 8 trillion to the deficit in his first term and that just doesn't seem to mean anything to him. Nor does the cost of living or the quality of life for the average American. And I don't think he cares one iota if he destroys the quality of life for people around the world as he's a pathological super freak, and those kind of thoughts never enter his small and toxic mind.

From the TruthSocial post above:

President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks

Maybe the first hallucination is that President Xi is the big, fat, hugging type -- All reports are he is just the opposite.

Not only that but who on earth would want to hug Trump? Just the smell of sulfur (not to mention the severe level of disrespect that Xi and other men like him likely feel towards the goon) alone would be enough to prevent that act of affection.

I agree. I guess we can all hope that this strategy of the USA restricting shipments through the straight will greatly diminish the destruction of Iran and the killing of its people.

Would you rather it fail so your political herd wins regardless of the all the deaths that may follow. I opt for a solution that doesn't entail bombing Iran incessantly. I have no herd that I need to obey so I just try to back what is better. I've done the herd thing and lost my shttt after Trump was elected to his first term. To what end?

so your political herd

There are plenty enough persons across the board who say that there was no need on 28 FEB to start a war -- just that they obtained intelligence that the Iran heads of state would all be assembled at ground zero.

Trump said 28 FEB:

The hour of your freedom is at hand. Stay sheltered. Don't leave your home. It's very dangerous outside. Bombs will be dropping everywhere. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take," Trump said.

OK, I don't know and very well could be true. What does it have to do with my post you replied. I just re-read my post because I forget things :)

Once you start talking about 'herd' I'll post what I want whether it is a response to you or not.

Trying to predict what will unfold over the course of a single day in the Trumpazoic is a fool’s errand.

The unhinged one has been manipulating the markets for over a month.

Insider trading is rife.

Hidden in plain sight.

That is the only plan.

I have posted similar a month or so ago.🙃🙃

Iran still have a few irons in the fire.

Smuggling & Rationing: Keeps domestic survival going while buying time. Proxy Escalation: Using militias or naval units to harass shipping without direct attribution. Mining or Bombing Ships: A few targeted strikes could send oil prices soaring, shifting pressure onto Washington and allies. Negotiation Leverage: Iran could then enter talks not as a weakened state, but as the one holding the global economy hostage.

It seems smuggling and rationing will be key, then they can turn the tables again.

China has remained largely silent until just a few days ago.

Remember the James Carville 1992 line: It's the economy, stupid.

With China in 2026 it may be: It's our oil, stupid

(AI Gemini) Pre-Paid and "Contracted" Crude

The tension stems from the 2021 China-Iran 25-Year Cooperation Agreement. China reportedly committed up to $400 billion in investments in exchange for a steady supply of Iranian oil at heavily discounted prices. From Beijing’s perspective, any blockade (whether by the U.S. or the IRGC) isn't just an "energy disruption"—it is the physical seizure or blockage of paid-for Chinese assets.

Defense Minister Dong Jun's Stance: In April 2026, Minister Dong Jun stated that China would "not accept any external guardianship" over its relations with Tehran. He explicitly warned that China’s energy and trade agreements—specifically the 25-year Comprehensive Strategic Partnership—must be respected.

Yeah yeah yeah - just like they are "two weeks away from a nuclear bomb" for the last 30 years.

By his strategic chess move of blocking the Straight of Hormuz, President Trump is causing Iran to run out of gas and diesel in 10-14 days (they don't refine their own). In addition, they will have to shut down their oil pumps because they don't have enough storage, but oil wells perform poorly after doing this. There will be permanent long term damage to their oil production ability.

The Mullahs will be forced to surrender, negotiate, or be overthrown by their own people.

There will be short term pain for the rest of the world, but this move will create intense pressure on the brutal Iranian regime.

Of all of his Truth Social outbursts and speaches!

So Iran have just declared that they will let ships pass freely during the remainder of the ceasefire, and the "victorious" leader of the US is so relieved and grateful that he thanks the "defeated" Iranian leaders for allowing this to happen, even calling the SOH the Strait Of Iran!

What a limp d biscuit!🤣
