Iranian threaten to close Strait of Hormuz if US blockade continues

Featured Replies

The supertankers that moved into the Arabian Sea were identified as the Hero II and Hedy. Vortexa used satellite imagery to hone in on the two Iran-flagged, very large crude carriers that it said entered area on April 20. The pair can together carry as much as 4 million barrels of oil.

The latest incidents demonstrate that, while US President Donald Trump has said that Iran’s navy has been destroyed, Tehran’s deployment of small boats to target commercial shipping remains a terrifying prospect.

Still, Vortexa’s figures suggest Iran’s exports haven’t been halted in the face of US threats, with at least 34 Iran-linked tankers and gas carriers making their way through the strait and the US blockade line. Of the vessels crossing since early last week, 19 have been heading out of the Persian Gulf, with 17 of those carrying cargo. Ships were given until late on April 13 to leave Iran’s ports.

What on earth are you babbling on about? Do you remember that there was a ceasefire agreement for two weeks, where the strait would be opened? Is your attention span really that short? There are still

It was Trump that got the straights closed resulting in the oil price hike. He doesn’t get plaudits for backing out of the mess he himself made.

Could it possibly be because they ended western civilization through having replaced the countries inhabitants? The modern left are to the civilized world what the meteor shower was to the dinosaurs.

The Europeans stated they were working on a plan to open the Strait of Hormuz. Have they released a plan for using their massive navies to accomplish this mission?

They are not going to do anything as long as there is a war going on. They are not that stupid.

All this shows us on a daily basis the latest humiliation of America after Vietnam, Afghanisthan and others...and also shows that with cheap garage made drones, one can fully counter one of the so-called most powerful armies of the world.

Are you really suggesting that Europeans just talk and don't take action?

Naaah! I just highlighted what had been clearly stated:

"The mission, the two countries say, would be deployed only after a negotiated end to hostilities between the United States and Iran."

So there's no hurry! 😄

Of course, there is no hurry; Europe lacks the resources to take any action.

They never intended to "take any action", as long as there is a conflict going on.

They are not stupid enough to join a war led by Trump! 😃

Hope this clarifies things for you.thumbsup

Trump goes from failure to failure. It's such a wonderful thing to behold.

"ExxonMobil and Chevron have defied calls from the White House to increase oil production, resisting pressure from an administration that is struggling to end the biggest energy crisis in decades.

Exxon’s chief financial officer Neil Hansen told the FT there had been “no change” to the company’s strategy in the Permian Basin, the dominant US oil and gas region, while Chevron’s finance chief Eimear Bonner said “the crisis has not prompted any change to any of our plans”.

The government has released oil from the strategic petroleum reserve and called for more drilling from the industry, but the two US supermajors are holding firm on their prewar strategies."

The cracks are getting wider. This war is hugely unpopular, even among the GOP, and the Trump "spell" isn't working anymore. Basically every single candidate he's supported in local elections the last few months have lost.clap2

Europe lacks the ability to take meaningful action on any issue.

It seems Europe was taking up a game up game they couldn't join. You need to face the fact that Europe is lame.

I can feel the hurt, anguish and embarrassment you feel right now. It's literally oozing out of your posts.

And if I were in your situation I'd feel exactly the same. But, contrary to what you're doing, I would be sure to blame the idiot that started this whole mess.

Unfortunately, you do not possess the moral fortitude to look in the mirror and admit you were wrong.

Again, they always clearly stated they wouldn't do anything unless the conflict is over. It seems they are not stupid enough to join a war led by Trump.

You need to face the fact that not one wants to follow a moron! 😀

Senator, and possibly future president, Jon Ossoff tells it like it is. In less than 1.5 years Trump has, with the aid of the vapid and spineless maggots of the GOP, managed to drag the name of the US of A so thoroughly and completely through the mud that there might not be a way back, ever.

Before Trump, whatever people thought of the US (overwhelmingly positive views in democratic nations), at least there was respect. That respect is no longer there.

Because, if you don't respect yourself enough to make sure you're not governed by clowns, don't expect respect from your former friends and allies, nor indeed from your enemies.

So for every moronic act and statement coming from Trump the reaction is now shoulder shrugs, not despair, because everyone knows that the chief clown is soon 80, in awful physical and mental health, and deeply unpopular even in his own country.

The damage Iran has done to seemingly all US bases in the area is devastating, something Trump has been desperate to hide. Great investigative reporting from CNN.

What a surprise that Pete is lying about the real cost of the war on Iran. As an example, the massive cost of the damage to all those US bases has never been part of the figures coming from the Pentagon.

'Officials Call BS on Pentagon Pete’s Blatant Lies'

https://www.thedailybeast.com/officials-call-bs-on-pentagon-petes-blatant-lies/

"The Pentagon shaved roughly half off the cost of the Iran war when telling Congress it was about $25 billion, while internal estimates put it closer to $50 billion.

But U.S. officials familiar with internal assessments told CBS News that the offensive’s true price tag to date is closer to $50 billion. The Pentagon’s official figure presented in congressional testimony this week likely did not account for equipment destroyed or damaged in the conflict, the officials suggested."

Is this the same “lack of resources “ that came to your aid after 9/11 and helped the US against Iraq and Afghanistan?

Europeans died for American hubris yet here you all are insulting what has been your closest allies for at least 80 years because a fraudster told you that we should be despised because we won’t back a clearly awful war.

You belittle European capabilities because you are told to; you happily undermine trusted allies because your orange messiah said so. And it’s everyone else’s fault other than the Conman in chief.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Well since you are the judge, basically nothing, since you are always wrong. But again, another question you can't answer. Troll

Americans died throughout the 20th century because you guys can't get along with each other and are consumed with hate for everybody who is not on your little pathetic continent. Millions of people died throughout history because your lot were out stealing and killing. You have no military capabilities whatsoever, and as far as I'm concerned, the Russians can have you.

I hope you don't try to claim that the US entered WWII to help Europe. The reason they entered is because of Pearl Harbour.

Now tell us why EU armies joined the wars the US started far from our bed. I don't recall the EU was attacked by Afghanistan or Iraq.

The US could have limited their participation in WW11 after Pearl Harbour to just a war against Japan but actually it was Hitler that brought the US into the war in Europe in WW11 when Hitler declared war on the US on 11 Dec 1941!
