Very serious concerns about my 'anti-cancer' medication

Featured Replies

My experience may well not be yours. I hope not.

I am 80 years old and have multiple cancers (prostate, bladder, back)

I'll tempt Providence (for your sakes?) and say that I am in no pain.

I attend what's reckoned to be the best or second best hospital in Chiang Mai.

For about two years I have responded well to the tablets that my oncologist prescribed i.e. Abiraterone Acetate 250 mg 4 every morning.

He's now replaced these with 500 mg tablets (2 every morning)

The results have been terrible for me: brain fog, cognitive impairment, some loss of memory, fatigue, diarrhea, loss of balance.

The doctor told me that these tablets are a 'new strain'. When I reported problems I had with them, I actually cried in his surgery. Something I would never do normally!

He then told me the 500mg tablets were 'the same' as the 250 mg ones.

They decidedly are not! But I have no medical insurance and they are 5000 baht cheaper for a 30 day supply.

PLEASE be careful everybody who is suffering from cancer.

Well, it's the same dose. Sure it's not a placebo effect?

If they are made in India type generic tablets you may have got a bad batch could try buying some more or reducing the dose Have you asked to return to the original pills?
