Thais say 7 not 7/11 and most have a 3 letter nickname. Most farangs can't even pronounce Kanchanaburi including most Youtubers.

Why when challenged when wrong do you always double down on your idiocy? Look at what you have written, its again so obvious that you are oblivious to life here in the LOS.

I do not think that clown has ever been here.

  • A few months ago, I spent a couple of days in Phetchaburi while on a leisurely drive from Jomtien to Hua Hin. I found it to be a very interesting province. This was early March and while the Pattaya

Why are you posting nonsense? What bit is wrong? I find it hard to believe you have ever been to Thailand. Your posts are all nonsense.

What part of America do you troll from?

I've never heard the abbreviations Kanch or Phetch before, but know where's being referred to.

For a long time i mispronounced Kanchanaburi, which should be pronounced gaan-jà-ná-bù-rii.

Im sure we all know that "Bridge over the River Kwai" is a mispronunciation from 'Maenam Khwae'. Thais piss themselves when they hear farlangs refer to River Kwai.

If you like quiet, Suan Phueng is a great place as well and not to far away from Kanchaburi. Great area for some motorbiking. Many great resorts and restaurants but not especially budget friendly like Kanchaburi where you still get ok bungalow, swimming pool and breakfast for under 1000baht

Ka words have a ga sound. No big deal. In text Kanch is normal between friends. Thais shorten words all the time. Mitsubishi is Mitsu.

That is a text format not spoken. Friends use abbreviations all the time both Thai and farang in texts.

But some cities get shorterned in speech. Koh Samui can just be Samui. Krabi Town becomes Krabi. Udon Thani becomes Udon.

I am silly enough to walk outside and take a photo of my house, in fact two. Taken right now. Sorry pal, dream on. Do you really think lying and deflecting is going to help you? 3029 now lets see how you end the day.

No public trans to the area though, as RR doesn't seem to self drive to, only after arriving. Been there a few time for R&R, and would recommend as an alternative to the BKK weekenders vs Patts, Kan 🙄, HH, Khao Yai. And for those been to Khao Kho to many times, and closer.

Driving is fine sometimes but prefer not. I enjoy motorbikes more. Wind in the face. I found a jungle resort in Chumphon with kayaks. Looks really nice. It links up nicely with all the other beach towns. Just north is Saphli beach which also looks nice. The ride south of Bang Saphan Noi looks good to. I did just north of there before. Wonderful spot.

Just checked with the wife and thais use these abbreviations:

MuengKan and Phetburi or Phet.

Kanchanaburi used to be a crappy drive from Bkk, but with the new BKK-kanchanaburi motorway it's now an easy drive for a short visit. If have more time, head up the river vally towards Sangkhlaburi.

Suan Phueng is a lovely border area, popular with thais (very few farlangs). We like this place/area: Phapok Eco Resort.

Khao Yai has changed so much I barely recognise it, even though of been loads of times. No longer cheap. I have particular favourite place to stay.

Khao Kho is nice, but a bit of a drive, and is a bit too popular for my liking.

In Phetchaburi we like this place, been twice in past 6 months: Fisherman's Resort Haad Chao Samran ฟิชเชอร์แมน รีสอร์ท หาดเจ้าสำราญ

The point was it's a long vowel sound 'gaan' not 'kan'.

Yeah lots of nice areas. No bad option. Im leaning south mainly due to long train line. I like all those beach towns. Between Ban Krut and Bang Saphan there are two roads off the highway as 4 is inland. Therefore you can ride around without much traffic.

Thanks for that. Really does look nice with a variety of accommodation styles. Nice to get "real" trip reports.

Yes it sounds more like a double a. But in text form Kanch is fine between friends. You would not use it with a stranger. Thais roll their tongues. Sometimes they drop Rs.

I have spoken Thai for many years and Phetch is an English abbreviation not a Thai one which only demonstrates how dumb you are. You prove it with each and every post. Farangs say Bangkok but that's just the English word. Sadly you are jealous of people with better lives cause you have none.

They have really big bungalows and also rooms in a building. Go for the bungalows, really nice.

Only popped in once, and sadly, what I expected. Beach trashed up, but it was 'off season', if there is one, June 2024. Really didn't bother spending much time there. If I don't feel comfortable strolling along the beach, then no need to be there, for us.
