You seem to have your head 100 years ago or something in the way you think of socialism - somehow you link this to modern day left leaning or centrist parties. There are gaps to say the least in your explanation of how you get from modern simple boring economic policies for the Democrats say - to mass murder. If you are talking about very far left protesters or something only then please say so.

Lets take Bernie who is a bit further to the left than most:

I can't speak for his career as a whole but I think it is fairly obvious he has caught the imagination of a wide range of the population - including the young - not to accept the status quo. I hear you - and some of his policies on housing and student debt seem a bit too generous - but I think politicians, such as Trump is doing now, send the message that America can't afford things it really can.

I mean the argument that a bit more tax on the highest earners will disincentivise them can be debated - but they can still be super rich and get more rich with a few extra per cent tax.

If they can afford this war then I think they can afford to spend a bit more on the people ..
