We have a very different perspective on what's good for the country and world, but I must say you come off as exceptionally unpleasant.

That's incredibly bad news for the Democratic Party if all they can put forth is Harris, who has failed at just about everything she's ever attempted to do accomplish, and is deeply unpopular, deeply

Talking about polling.thumbsup

Imagine flipping Texas. Now, that would put a few MAGA nickers in a twist!

But that can actually happen when they put heinous people like Ken Paxton on the ballot.

Nothing. President Biden was doing vastly better than Trump.

"What would she have done differently than Trump?"

Everything. A President Harris would have done better than Trump in every conceivable way.

You do realize there's a reason why Trump is the most unpopular president in history, right?thumbsup

The democrats had better come to terms as to why Trump won 2024

Bingo, the Dems have not come to grips with why they lost last time. So, they double down.

That would be....a slaughter. Ditto JD vs Harris. A Republican's dream either way.

Shapiro is the only one they need fear legitimately. He is rather moderate, intelligent, well spoken, etc. But his primary handicap is being a Jew. The Democrats in today's political climate will never let a Jew on the ticket.

I believe a drover's dog could lead the Dems to victory the way the country will be in 2028.

Ah, yes the new "Beto" LOL. Got it.

Harris got a raw deal in the way she was nominated.

She had almost no time to run a campaign thanks to Joe Biden who set her up for that handicap.

The democrats had no time to run a real primary process in which case if she had been nominated that way she would have been a much stronger candidate.

But life and politics aren't fair.

Democrats don't give second chances for president.

She had her shot and even though it was a loaded against her shot, that's all she'll ever get.

On top of that there was her huge mistake of failing to distance herself from Biden. As acting VP that would have been hard, but it was necessary and she failed at that.

Nah the problem was she had too MUCH time. She got a good boost in the polls for the first month or so (remember Brat Summer?), and then steadily dropped. Interesting, the more people got to know her, the less they liked her. A longer campaign would have only made her have a worse showing.

Is that the preacher that said God was cis gender?

Every rich white leftist woman will vote for him, Catholic Mexicans, Baptist blacks and evangelical whites? Not so much.

Remember white gays guys for Kamala? That was a vote getter.

Remember the man's man Walz? The ruff-n-tuff "hunter" that could not load his shotgun, and showed us how to check the oil in his car? I would vote for Hunter Biden before I would vote for him.

Maybe the Dems just need to rerun that ticket, but reverse the polarity. Gov Tim on top, and Kamala for VP. I mean, she DOES have a lot of experience working under older dudes.

You misunderstood my point entirely.

My actual point is that if there was a normal primary she was by no means a shoo in to win it. I doubt she would have but we'll never know.

However, IF she had been nominated in a normal primary that would mean she would have been tested by fire and grown as a candidate.

Her candidacy would have been seen as fully legit.

She wouldn't have had the handicap of the perception that she was nominated by way of a less than democratic process with no opposition.

In any case, I hope she doesn't run again.

It's time for a very fresh start.

If history is any judge, she might have been beaten badly in a normal primary. Just look at her performance in the runup to the 2020 election. Absolutely pathetic. Never even made it to the first state primary.

But, given her natural advantages of gender and pigmentation, any primary would have been far easier. Other candidates would have been loathe to challenge her for fear of being labelled racist/misogynist/etc.

The numbers show that her candidacy was welcomed at first when she took over for Biden. But over time, people soured on her. At least that is what the polling shows from that time. Hence my theory that a longer campaign would have hurt rather than helped.

That's ridiculous.

You're forgetting what actually happened.

There would have no problem at all to oppose her in a normal primary. Biden was unpopular and being a VP to an unpopular president is not automatic.

The problem you described was ONLY because of the way Biden forced the rush. There was no time for a normal primary so if you had to pick someone super quick, it would always be the VP.

Buttigeig widely regarded as their best communicator has a chance.

I'm optimistic about Mayor Pete in the long term. But he needs to nail down his persona and get a little seasoning, and that takes time and some learning lumps. (And what's with the beard?) The Dem Elite would chew him up and spit him out in a primary against Kamala or Newsom. Like they did to Bernie.

To their detriment, mind you. But that's how they rock.

Well I think he would be competitive now and sometimes waiting to mature means you lose your chance forever. I don't think Newsom or Harris will be nominated. Early polls are meaningless. That said, Buttigeig is a Michigander now so he can run for a higher office there and then see about later. He never had a chance in super red Indiana for something like that.

Even more important, black folks dont like him. He is polling at about -34% among African Americans. And the Democrats cannot win without the Black vote.

There was a normal primary, there was time, the DNC truncated it. Biden should have dropped out and Harris and whomever could step in.

That surprises me, but I don't follow the polls. Mostly, I think he can bring some sanity back to the DNC. So could Shapiro.

Newsom or Harris? Not a chance of a return to sanity.

That's a very good point. Considering that he shouldn't run. Too bad as he is talented. Politics is a brutal field. Reminds me of something I recently learned about JB Pritzker who is my personal favorite pick -- that he IS very popular with black people. You can't win a democratic primary without that.

Pete would have been a better VP choice than Walz. At least he does not look and sound like a buffoon.

Incidentally, in every recent clip of Harris I've seen, she looks hammered.

That's his #2 handicap. #1 is being sane and rational. The people would vote for him (even as a Jew), but the Dem Elite won't support him. Not radical enough.

If you don't believe that, look at the 75% of registered Dems that favor voter ID, but the Dem Elite won't have it...

Americans already have voter ID. It's called a passport.

Today

USA - 5 Candidates

HarrisX (Harvard)

Harris 50.0%

Newsom 22.0%

Shapiro 9.0%

The democrats haven't learned a thing since Trump whupped them 2024. It would be awesome to have Rubio - Harris for presidential debate 2028

Unless some major changes to the probable candidates for both parties, IMHO we will end up with another loser for sure. The Superpacs fund both party's candidates so they in effect get a win win situation by getting a leader who will allow them to continue to rule the big business dollars while the rest of the citzens get poorer in my honest opinion. I sure don't see anyone among the current leaders for either side, just more of the same type idiots that want to get rich off the government dole. This has been going downhill rapidly IMHO since at least the mid-60's. Each successive leader just gets that much weaker as a true leader of what should be one of the best countries in the world but not anymore and possibly never again IMHO again. I am too old to really be affected except mentally but I am a patriot and have family and friends in the US that I hope get a better living than current situation.

Remember the man's man Walz? The ruff-n-tuff "hunter" that could not load his shotgun, and showed us how to check the oil in his car?

Please, please, please.... Tell me it was an electric.

Democrats are more likely to have valid U.S. passports compared to Republicans. For instance, 41% of Democrats hold valid passports, while only 38% of Republicans

Yeah, the rich elites travel much more than the working poor.

You really shouldn't go there. One can learn a lot from reading what a person writes, and let's just say that it's abundantly clear you're not exactly PhD material.

Just a friendly piece of advise.thumbsup

I would greatly appreciate it if you could share a link to your PhD dissertation. Thank you!

I didn't realize that the passport form had a political affiliation section.
