King Charles speech.

I've been listening to King Charles speech. Very eloquent and diplomatically pointed. I noticed the Vice President did not applaud when Charles referred to NATO. I then listened to the President's 'beautiful' speech. I wonder if he understood some of the long words the King used and what he was diplomatically referring to.?

I just saw a brief clip of Trump with the King and Camilla where Trump basically cut them both off stepping in front to dominate multiple handshakes. King Charles simply stepped back and let him get it over with.

The man is just an ignoramus. He even walked off in front of the inspecting officer and the King. Leaving the King trailing along.

Even if Charles was not a King, you do not leave a guest unaccompanied.

King to King Humor!

I am really quite confused as to why King Charles has even bothered to make this visit !

Already he has been subjected to and retaliated against negative efforts of diplomatic humiliation and subjugation as Trump has tried and failed to exercise his personal conviction of superiority.

In return Charles has quite effortlessly countered with bemused humor and appropriate comment and correction.

I am left to wonder if Charles were to abdicate in favor of his son if the seedy politics of the UK would improve or not?

The "Royals" indirectly have influence similar to the elite super rich in the US.

The difference is that the UK has a representative who actually comprehends the words his mouth pronounces.

That alone provides some assurance he will be retained.

Trump?

The King played to Trump's fragile ego with faint praise, while in a much more sophisticated way tore into almost everything Trump is trying to do. He said what the majority of Americans believe...about NATO, about checks and balances in a democracy, about aiding the courageous people of Ukraine...most of which is anathema to Trump. Undoubtedly there are Republicans who despise what Trump is trying to do, and maybe having a person of authority stating the obvious and the needful, these Republicans will finally grow a spine and begin to work in support of true American ideals, rather than be enablers of a terribly flawed and self-centered fascist clown Trump.

Thank you, King Charles.

One of the best speeches of the century so far. How America must wish they still had a real king!

Not really. Most Americans find pomp and circumstance something to gag on. Admittedly, right now we're stuck with chaos and bedlam.

The Superbowl is pomp and ceremony. The election race takes 12 months!

After all, the White House announced the entrance of 2 (TWO) Kings as Trump and Charles came out!

Canada's CBC nicely summed up the King's evening speech, where Charles delivered some excellent quips that drove home messsages Trump needed to hear, but in a jokingly kind of way so as not to offend his host. Classy.

DJT was probably asleep during 95% of the King's speech IMHO.

Thank you, King Charles.

As long as Putin continues to control his puppet IMHO the Republicans are going to find a dimmer and dimmer future - unfortunately not very progressive for the average US citizens either. Will IMHO be a hard climb back into the heights of the previous rankings of world countries.

Best way to put it is like the burger wars early when comparing Burger king against Mcdonalds. " Why have a Clown when you can have a King "

Just out of Interest who would come out on top between Churchill and Trump if they both gave a speach to bring the two countrys in there hour of need.

Do you enjoy making a fool of yourself on a daily basis? You know absolutely nothing about America. Looking at your posts on Bolt, you know nothing about Thailand as well.

I never thought I would say well done Charles, but I admit, Im about to do it!

As an American, I thoroughly enjoyed his speech before the US Congress and iMHO it could only have been a bit better if he had mentioned that DJT should ensure the early release of all the Epstein files as required by US law. I liked also the way some of the Republican Trumpers were embarassed by some of his comments the noise of the the Democrats like!

I know lots about America and Bolt. I used Bolt many times outside Bangkok. You are a guy who stalks me and won't stop.

Yeah pensioners know best.

As a pensioner, that means I am of a rather long life just about 80 and well off financially but those days for the younger folks in the US are for very few and getting fewer all the time. Just like the figures for jobs lost and gained in January 2026 - record low for new hires, record high for jobs lost. Now add inflation last month 3.3% and then what it will be this month - note the increase in gasoline to the highest level in 4 years! and now folks are getting hit with the tariff increases in other areas. A sad story for sure.

March jobs rose and unemployment fell.
