Chilling Footage Shows WHCD Gunman ‘Casing Hotel’ Day Before Attack

Surveillance reveals pre-planning

Newly released video footage appears to show suspect Cole Allen scouting the Washington Hilton in the hours before his alleged attempt to assassinate Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said the footage captures Allen moving through the hotel a day before the shooting, reinforcing prosecutors’ claims that the attack was premeditated rather than spontaneous. Separate video shown to the court allegedly shows the moment Allen fired at a U.S. Secret Service officer during the chaos.

Pirro stressed there is “no evidence” the agent was hit by friendly fire, a point that had previously remained unclear.

Court hearing and detention

Allen, 31, has agreed to remain in custody while awaiting trial after a brief federal court appearance. He has not yet entered a plea.

Prosecutors say he forced his way through a security checkpoint armed with a shotgun, triggering a confrontation in which at least one shot was fired by Allen and multiple rounds were returned by agents. The officer struck was protected by a bullet-resistant vest and survived.

Disturbing details emerge

Court filings reveal Allen took a photo of himself just minutes before the हमला, allegedly equipped with ammunition, a shoulder holster, and a knife. Investigators say he referred to himself as a “Friendly Federal Assassin” in messages that hinted at grievances with the Trump administration.

However, his defence team argues the case relies heavily on interpretation rather than clear intent, noting that Allen never explicitly named Trump in his writings.

Defence pushes back

Lawyers for Allen say the prosecution’s case is built on “speculation,” and have left open the possibility of seeking his release ahead of trial. They argue the evidence does not conclusively prove an assassination plot, despite the severity of the charges.

High stakes ahead

If convicted of attempted assassination, Allen could face life in prison. The case continues to raise serious questions about security at one of Washington’s highest-profile events — and how a suspect allegedly armed with multiple weapons was able to get so close in the first place.
